Halo Infinite won't launch with Xbox App

Discus and support Halo Infinite won't launch with Xbox App in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Long story short, the game only shows up in Task Manager when launched from the Xbox App. Absolutely no problems with Steam.     Halo Infinite won't launch with Xbox App


    Long story short, the game only shows up in Task Manager when launched from the Xbox App. Absolutely no problems with Steam. But, I have the gamepass so no point shelling out for the full campaign release yet until that runs out.

    Things i've tried so far.

    -Updating GPU drivers

    -Updating Windows 10 to current version

    -Powershell to delete game services, restart, reinstall

    -Verified game files, Verified Xbox app, Verified Microsoft Store app

    -Tried Launching through Nvidia Experience

    -Tried Launching as Administrator.

    Specs

    NvGT 1650 Super

    Intel Xeon x5680

    16GB RAM

    Game is installed on an SSD.

    Uninstalled the game from steam to see if the Microsoft version would launch, this did not work.

    Also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and tried with and without HD textures.

    I'm in the same boat. I can't even get mine to show up in task manager. I have uninstalled xbox app and halo, redownloaded. Repaired and Reset both apps, made sure the 3 xbox services were set to automatically run, including iphelper. Nothing seems to work. I even hacked the registery to allow myself access to the windows app folder where I found the game's EXE file. Double clicking it also does nothing. Tried deleting it manually but windows 11 is so locked down that I kept getting permission errors.

    There was a preload option advertised on the xbox app 1 week before release. I preloaded, but now i'm reading online this game doesn't have a preload. Then why was it offered on the xbox app? I think maybe that's what is causing my problems but that is just conjecture. If i download the free halo infinite multiplayer from steam, it works flawlessly, but I want to play campaign and don't want to pay $60 when it's included with my gamepass subscription.

    Having the same issue. I want to knowledge dump everything I've tried so far that hasn't worked for me, but hopefully might work for some of you.

    I see the game running in Task Manager under Background processes, but nothing loads. 3 processes show:

    • Console Window Host
    • DumpTool.exe (read that 'End task' on this file will load game after a few mins; hasn't worked for me).
    • HaloInfinite.exe
    HaloInfinite.exe is downloading to the hidden WindowsApps folder in File Explorer: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.254428597CFE2_1.3249.19634.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe

    I've uninstalled/reinstalled/terminated/repaired/reset/uncheck hi-res features the Xbox App/MS Store/Gaming Services/Halo Infinite using a combination of settings/advanced options/wsrest.exe/powershell/cmd prompt still nothing...also restarted the pc a hundred times for those wondering ;)

    I have an answer. You could not download and not play this game at all. it's total garbage and the fix for this error is not worth the time to pursue. This game is just not worth all of that. I just don't care. If a game does not work, I move on and play something else. There are plenty of other good games that can be played and enjoyed without this aggravation. Microsoft is multi-billion dollar company that just acquired Blizzard, and they can't get one of their own games to work. FIX YOUR GAMES, MICROSOFT!!!!
