Halo Infinite won't download - PC Xbox app /w Gamepass Ultimate

Heyo,

Not sure if this is just a network getting slammed issue, but I've been trying to download the game for a couple hours with no luck. After initiating the download, it just goes to the queue and never actually starts.

Other games will download / update with no issue, I've tried a few of the other troubleshooting steps from other questions that have been asked, but nothing has relieved the issue.

When starting the download, I'll select the base game, campaign, and high res pack, but after a few moments the campaign will remove itself from the download queue.

Other misc information;

- 500/100 internet service

- Plenty of room on selected drive to install

- Had the multiplayer component previously installed, but campaign wouldn't download / launch, so I uninstalled to redownload

- I've tried cancelling & restarting the download / restarting my computer

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Yeah same thing happened to me the update wouldn't show up so I uninstalled and now trying to reinstall it just says error for me.

This is the fix. Thank you. Deselect campaign and install it after the season 1 multiplayer is fully installed.

I tried again, but only selected the first two and it worked? Maybe it's a UI thing, idk

Regardless, it downloaded the multiplayer, and now when launching the game the campaign has a download button that works, instead of the preorder splash.

Maybe try just downloading the multiplayer base and see if it works for you too?

halo is not a playanywhere title, means you have to purchase for console and pc seperately. if you have gamepass ultimate or gamepass pc then you can download as part of that on pc.
