Halo Infinite is not saving progress!! Keeps returning to the same point again & again...

I’m playing halo infinite and I’m having the same issue at the tower. My progress will save and I’ll reach saving checkpoints. But when I quit the game and eventually resumed the game within 1 minute of quitting and leaving the game, my progress did not save. The same thing happened last night. Why does this keep occurring and what needs to be done in order to save my progress?

Jigsaw is backup to your account and as long as your device is connected to internet while playing your progress and points are saved to cloud.

Logging in again with the same account after reinstall will return to the same point.

Once i reach a checkpoint, it says "Saving Checkpoint". And if i keep on playing, it even says "Saving progress" as usual after a while.

But when i exit the game and restart after a while, it always goes to the same old place again. Every single time!

I've even completely formatted my hard disks, reinstalled my operating system, device drivers, xbox app, etc. A very lengthy process. A 100% complete system reset. And then installed a fresh copy on halo infinite. Again a time consuming process.

It syncs with the cloud while starting as usual. But then the problem still exists. Takes me back to the same point again and again. I've even given it hours to sync, but the problem doesn't go away.

The system works perfectly & i didn't install any non-microsoft software just to be safe. Something's wrong with cloud sync for save games. How to fix? Pls help.

Well first no there is no save files on halo infinite

I spent 20mins bombing a hidden base (cave with anti aircraft guns and tanks) then a stray needler ir anti aircraft blast hits my damaged wasp I have to restart again)

It is based on your checkpoint and since halo doesn't have levels you int dropping back that far

You gotta watch everytime you reach a certain point you see saving

Then everything upto that point is saved

And yes you can restart a 20min firefight if you dont hit a check point for example clearing a firebase or worse the Spartan killer firefight

Halo doesn't have manual saves

So I have no idea what you mean by saves

You hit a certain checkpoint or recapture a firebase that's how you save it doesn't require user input at all

You can return to checkpoints to save your progress that means backtracking but enemies don't respawn

You can't manually save except hiting your check points you find armor peices that's also a checkpoint

You hit a milestone that's also a checkpoint

Killing small mobs not a checkpoint

However certain open world bases will repopulate with a small amount of troops but you won't have to fight all the bosses again

Yes I completed the campaign myself waiting for halo endless expansion

UPDATE: OK after further research this looks to be a game breaking save file corruption bug and there is currently no way to fix it. 343 are said to be aware of the bug for over 2 weeks now but have not yet released an update to resolve the issue. You have the create a new save starting over from the beginning of the game, losing all progress made up to that point.

With all the bugs being reported by other gamers and missing features such as campaign co-op and mission replays I am personally done with Halo Infinite as it is quite clearly in a unfinished state. I have already lost over 18 hours of game play because of my game save becoming corrupted and not going to spend any more time with Halo Infinite as there is a possibility of it happen again at any point.

I am playing on XBOX only and was not prompted to resign in at any point prior to this bug happening as others have reported.
