Halo after Halo 3

Does anybody know or understand why the whole feel and look of halo declined drastically after Halo 3? It was my understanding that the endeavor of the developers was to make the games look as realistic as possible within their capacity to do so as that
was the whole visual appeal of this particular sci-fi series. The armor looked genuinely metallic and showed wear over time rather than plastic and way too vibrant, the back grounds and surroundings looked detailed and realistic rather than looking like water
colors and, again, way to vibrant color scheme, the whole battle system changed completely with some small good things but mostly over-complications, the customization improved greatly but at the cost of relatively boring armor detail and excessively bright
colors, vehicles became significantly weaker and, often, not worth using, the enemies seemed to become less menacing and more of a simple obstacle to easily destroy, the multiplayer maps now remind me of when I played Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64 with
very little detail, over use of very few colors, and obviously very little effort in the creativity department. The maps no longer contribute to the lore as the Halo 1-3 maps did well. Much of what was good in Reach was not kept or used in Halo 4 or 5 (except
the excellent inclusion of assassinations). It just seems to me that instead of producing the high quality and compelling story, visuals, game play, and style that Halo fans so deeply loved, Microsoft is now producing Sci-Fi Call Of Duty games and calling
it the next installation of the Halo Franchise. Those who have paid any attention know that the real Halo franchise died when Master chief finished the fight. Whatever resurrected afterwards lost it's soul and much of it's fan-base with it. Here's to hoping
something changes for the better with Infinite...though I've been hoping that sorta thing since Reach came out years ago...

Xbox One Games Population

After 343i's mixed reception Halo 4, the question is, how quickly will Halo 5 numbers decline.

 

How many consoles do you have include gaming pc and handled

Currently Own:

PC - needs an upgrade but runs games at decent settings on Windows 8
Surface RT
Nokia Lumia 920
4x Xbox 360's - 2005 launch console, Halo 3, Halo Reach and Halo 4 consoles.

 

Most likely due to a developer change and the fact that 1-3 are set up to be a trilogy and everything after is a different trilogy.

 

As mentioned above, development changed hands from Bungie to 343 after the first 3. I'm a massive halo fan and for me I think 343 have done an awesome job especially with 5 and the fire team system (revival, target select etc..) adds a new dimension to the
game and definitely humanises Cheif a little bit. Saying that though, my heart will always be with Combat Evolved that changed gaming for me and got me off PS!

 

I think it has to do with the change in developers. I totally agree with you though.

 

While I will agree some elements of the new games are not the greatest, mostly mechanic, balance, and community based, I do not agree they are bad games, and H4 and 5 are the ones that didn't look like plastic? More armor, better
designs, color where and how it would have been if H1-2-3 were made now, in H5's engine. I stopped playing as most brawls start and end the same exact way due to poor balance and the community is almost more toxic then Call of Duty's community, which I had
also left.

 

Halo 4 and 5 are great games, just different then the ones before and Call of Duty is not Halo.

 

I totally understand the developer change and all that, I just don't understand why the new developers changed much of that which was beloved by the Halo fan-base. The whole look and feel is different. I'm not suggesting the games are bad in and of themselves.
As standalone games, or under a different title, they'd be excellent. They just don't feel like Halo...which I really miss. My concern is we may never see that gameplay, style, look, and feel again.

 

I know Call of Duty isn't Halo. It was intended as an over-exaggeration of the similarities such as load-outs, weapon customization, sprinting, etc...

 

Sure it's a different trilogy but that simply means new story, maybe new characters, maybe new weapons/vehicles, maybe new locations/maps. Not completely different gameplay, feel, art style, design, etc... It's as if it's a completely different title, not simply
a new trilogy.

 

Development change was the biggest factor in that i believe.
