Halo 5 release NOT on X Box 360....WHY?

Hi all

I don't usually go on forums so please excuse my manners etc.

Could someone, (as I've tried contacting 343 Industries for their input, and they don't seem to have an actual website, other than a community forum which was next to useless), tell me WHY Microsoft and 343 Industries are apparently NOT releasing Halo 5
in 360 format?

I have spent a lot of money on keeping my collection of HALO up to date and collected every game, collectable, and item I could lay my hands on, ALL based on the 360, Only to find that 343 and Microsoft aren't releasing Halo 5 on the 360 platform.

This is just downright RUDE and nonsense on their part. The 360 platform is still VERY popular, and I can do 98% of what the X Box one can do on the 360 without any major problems. I'm a Disabled person and I get an immense amount of enjoyment from playing
these Halo franchise games, and now it seems I have WASTED a huge amount of money, buying a franchise game that I CAN NOT COMPLETE.

In the words of an infamous Australian politician......PLEASE EXPLAIN?

x box elite

My grandson has new x box elite 1t he tried playing first time today . Halo 5 a.has been down loading for 2hours now up dating for last 2 hours shrill only at 4% its so slow.

 

regarding x box games cd

dude my cd region is ntsc-j iam in india now i cannot get ntsc-j .. will i be able to play halo 4 in pal version in my x box or fifa14 or gta 5

Their reasons are their own... but many common sense explanations come to mind. First, the Xbox 360 will soon be phased out. Its support will be dropped. Halo is the flagship game [franchise] for Xbox. They want it to be its best and in order to get the
best from the game, they want to use the better and newer hardware of the X1 to make it the best experience. If they had to make it work on the 360 hardware, then it would not reach its full potential on the Xbox One. If they make it reach its full potential
on the Xbox One, the 360 couldn't play it.

Eventually, all consoles reach the end of their supported life span. MS (if memory serves) stated they would continue to support the 360 for ~2 years after the X1 released. The
window for games that will be developed for both the 360 and the X1 is closing and it won't be long until all devs will move on to the X1. It should come as no surprise that eventually they will stop making games for the 360.

It is neither rude, nor is it nonsense. It is business. They want people to buy their new console. They don't want the flagship franchise game to reach less than its full potential. Simple
as that.

If you don't own an X1, how do you know? You can't speak from personal experience in that case. If you do... why are you complaining?

I spent most of my life being disabled and I know the feeling when it comes to the amount of enjoyment the Halo games have given me. But technology (as it always does) moves
forward. Electronic devices progress even more rapidly than most. They are outdated more rapidly than most. This is a given in electronics.

BTW, Halo is one of only a few franchises that you can (currently) play all versions of using one console. (It may even be the only one). That's because it's the flagship
game for Xbox. But if you think about it... what you're getting upset and ranting about is not much different than if someone got mad because Halo 3 wasn't available for the OG Xbox. It wasn't, because the OG Xbox simply didn't have the capacity to play the
game. You can't expect companies to keep making games for a console that will soon be outdated.

Sorry... it isn't what you want to hear, but there you have it.

 

Another stupid thread, upgrade to Xbox One already or else have fun not being able to play all of these new upcoming games that are not getting a Xbox 360 port.

 

wait... does this guy not know that the MCC has all of the halo games? and reach and halo wars will probably be available to play when they activate the BC for those games on the X1

 

First off the Waypoint forums are far from useless. If you had posted this there you would have had a response the same day rather than months later, and more than likely you won't see this one.

Anyway, I would encourage you to trade in your 360, especially since all the Halo games will be playable on the One soon. MCC isn't what was hoped for, but the fact that all the Halo games will eventually be backwards compatible leaves no reason not to.

Why should they spend time and money on a console that is on its way out. Sorry buddy but it's true.

 

Halo 5 i a larger game then others increase player count graphics size of installment as well eventually companies have to move on from old to new

 

Having Halo 5 on xbox 360 will mean the Halo5 wont be as good.

The limitations of the 360 will hold the game back and then the xbox one will get a version that is inferior to the one it's getting now.

Your best bet is to buy an xbox one and either get the master chief collection or play your 360 halo games when backwards compatibility is introduced later this year

 

The same reason Halo 3 did not release on the original Xbox. It was meant to be the next generation of Halo, and meant to pull the old generation (including players) into the new one.

 

Because it's 2015- not 2004 or 2007.

 

hell if you tried to play halo 5 on the 360 the game would probably crash due to the limitations of the 360.
