    Halo 5 not updating


    So I installed the disc for Halo 5 and then it asked if I wanted to update (18GB) and I hit yes. I let m xbox run all night and all day at school and came home and it was only 2%. I hard reset and did it again and came home and it was only 2%. I have my
    console set to instant-on and to never turn off automatically. I have hard reset once and that did not work. I can play the single-player campaign part of the game just fine so I believe it is not a problem with my disc. What else should I do.

    Needs updating again as Halo 5 now has an official release date of 27th October.

    Never had any issues until Halo 5 on the new dash. Will update the firmware to see if that fixes it.

    Wait, you can play the singleplayer even while it says it's updating? If so, that doesn't sound like it's doing the update at all.

    In that case, and I appreciate this isn't going to be a great experience, you should uninstall and reinstall the game, which should hopefully fix this and allow the update to complete.

    No, I mean I could play the game after I installed it. And it says Updating: 2% on the screen so as far as I know it's updating. Also I have uninstalled the game multiple times and have gotten the same result, 2%.

    Unfortunately, other than trying what Genesis suggested (wired), it's just a waiting game. Making sure that there is nothing else taking bandwidth could help as well, but with updates it means that the game isn't playable until fully updated.

    You have to wait until it is finished. You might try it wired vs. wireless. A fast reliable internet circuit will be your best friend.
