Halo 5 matchmaking search issues with two consoles on one router.

Hey guys,

I'll try to be brief, my brother and I are merely attempting to play Halo 5 matchmaking together. Upon initiating the search, one of us manages to receive the "unable to connect to session" error at least 80% of the time, although with multiple tries we
are able to get through. Custom games work flawlessly.

Two consoles on one very capable dual router (NetGear AC1750) and reliable internet connection (75mbps)

We've already tried both consoles on the 5.0Ghz portion, and one console on 2.4Ghz with the other on 5.0Ghz. Nothing seems to give us a solid, completely stable connection when searching together... and this only happens in Halo 5.

We're both wirelessly connected as wired is out of the question with our setup.

The only thing I have yet to attempt is port forwarding one of the boxes, and I'd prefer not to be forced to do that again. (I've had to perform port forwarding once in the past before realizing that the router was the problem and ultimately having to upgrade).

There's a solution out there, but with anything related to technology, it takes time to find and correct the problem. If anyone has experienced this and has found the solution, I would greatly appreciate the advice, it would save me a great deal of time.

Unable to connect to Matchmaking, need account refreshed (per Xbox Support)

Hi, I would like to have be included on the list of accounts having issues with Halo 5 matchmaking. Please refresh it ASAP. Thanks.

 

"Matchmaking Aborted"

I was just trying to play Halo Reach matchmaking with a friend of mine, but for some reason we would automatically back out of the search after a minute or two, and an error message reading "Matchmaking Aborted" would appear. The weird thing is we can search
on our own or with other friends and find a match with no problems. Matchmaking wont let us play together though. We can't even join eachother's party chats. We've tried turning our Xbox's off and on and searching in multiple playlists, but nothing seems to
be working. Can anyone help out?

 

Update- Made it into several matches tonight with the occasional lag out, then we hit a point where I'd continuously lag out as soon as we'd find game. Attempted that several times before finally giving up and trying to start custom game together... I couldn't
even hold a connection in a that. Once again, this is in a very capable connection... any thoughts or ideas would be very much appreciated.
