Halo 5 Matchmaking not working for warzone. At all.

I thought I would throw this up here as well (It's all over waypoint as well). Anyone living outside the US is having trouble with matchmaking. Mostly in warzone. I am in Japan and was having the same issue. I hooked my xbox over to an Hong Kong and it worked
for a single game before my xbox needed updated for some reason.

There is definitely a problem with Warzone world wide. I hope Microsoft and 343 don't repeat the MCC multiplayer fiasco.

Warzone Matchmaking not working

Hey guys,

Bought the physical version of the game yesterday but it seems I'm unable to play Warzone. I got stuck on "finding Spartans" I checked my NAT and is open and I can play all of the arena modes just fine. Anyone else having the same issue? I searched online
a bit and find this: Halo 5: Guardians' Warzone matchmaking not working? It might be a failed "REQ Pack" download but it does't look like me problem.
If anyone knows a fix i'll be grateful.

 

Why Halo 5 will be so much better than Halo: MCC, and could it be as good as Reach?

I really like the look of Warzone so i'm, hopeful it will be better than Reach.

I'm also hoping they learned their lessons from the broken matchmaking in the MCC and Halo 5 multiplayer will be problem free.

If multiplayer works properly on release then there is a good chance that Halo 5 will popular and be able to retain it's online population even after BO3 comes out.

If we have another repeat of the MCC broken matchmaking fiasco then i'm afraid Halo will lose all credibility and the series will die

 

I am having the same issues... not to mention every time someone talks with a mic, the lag spikes dramatically until they stop talking. It disconnects me from the game after a minute or two regardless. Hasn't disconnected me from arena games yet.

I don't understand... I can run battlefied 4 - 64 player games no problem. But not a 24 player match in halo 5?

Lastly I'm from Australia so yeah this sounds like quite an issue.

Sorry to hear about the Halo 5 trouble. To clarify, do you only get this issue with Warzone? It may be worth us taking a quick look at your network speeds, just to make sure everything is looking good there. Can you share your detailed network statistics
on your Xbox One here?

@peter are you trying to connect to us servers?That would be why

You wouldnneed to connect to something closer like asian countries

When playong multiplayer you must hvena low ping

Because you are trying to play over seas which is physically a long distance it will lag

 

Here's the network stats for when I'm VPN'd (DD-WRT router) over to Hong Kong (War Zone is working this way)

By the way, I completely agree with you both you guys' reasoning. Except that as I read Halo Waypoint posts, this problem was happening to specific regions (Brazil, UK and Japan) and not others. Also my NAT type has been open in all scenarios. This led
me to trying the VPN just to attempt to get War Zone to connect to a different server. And presto, it's working, whether its even to a different server I don't know. What I do know is that when War Zone thinks I am in HK, it works. When War Zone thinks I am
in Japan, it doesn't despite the MUCH better connection. I would hypothesize there's a larger issue with War Zone going on.

Ideas? I verified again this morning that War Zone matchmaking is not working while Arena is unless I use the VPN.

 

Side note, Xbox is connected via Ethernet not wireless.

 

Hi Mr Maka. Here are my stats:

download speed - 0.98 Mbps

Upload speed - 0.65 Mbps

Latency - 220 ms

Also yes the issue connection in general only happens in warzone but i just found out that mic chat in game causing the larger lag spikes is affecting party as well. Chat in game is jittery but now so is party chat. Sounds exactly the same.

 

Scratch that issue with party chat just fixed it. Still applies to H5 though.

 

It seems the problem has eased off for now. I'll check back here if it comes back.
