Halo 5 Local server not working without internet even after starting with an internet ...

So right now the amount of bandwidth we can use is very tight, and I have a set up with 4 xbox ones, a multiviewer splitter, and a powerful computer running the Halo 5 Local Server app. With all that, my family can, for all intents
and purposes, play split screen with Halo 5, it works flawlessly... with an internet connection. The Halo 5 Local Server announced on its site that you must have an internet connection to start the match., and that you still use about 2 mbps of internet when
running the server because it keeps track of your post game carnage. But it also states that if you lose connection during a match you are not disconnected from the server, "Your game will complete as normal but you will not receive a Post Game Carnage
Report." So I was going to take advantage of this fact, I had a plan where I would disconnect the ethernet cable providing internet to the router, after starting the match WITH an internet connection, well, it works... for about 3 minutes. after about
2 minutes the game starts scratching up a little bit (it doesn't lag, it scratches, meaning, it will completely pause for a fraction of a second at random, nothing to do with the LAN.) And then it disconnects us from the server with this error message: "Unable
to join. the request to join has timed out. Please try again later.". The computer that's running the server is connected to the router with an ethernet cable. The Xbox Ones connect to the router wirelessly. Help here would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

^^This. And connections between you and your local server, your internet provider, XBL, BO2, and everyone in the lobby can change drastically in a moments notice. Connections get better and worse constantly, after all, its the internet. Crazy connections
cause 99.99% of WTF moments in CoDs.

 

Xbox 360 Internet Connection Suddenly stopped working.

My Xbox 360 internet connection was working fine, but it stopped without warning when I was using an app. Now, no matter what I try, nothing will working, not even using a wired connection.

 

After doing further research, I discovered that on my Xbox Ones' network settings, it states: "UPnP not successful". I also found out that my Xbox One consoles get disconnected from my server exactly when my Xbox Ones, for lack of better terms, "find out"
that they have no internet. I have no idea why it takes them about 3 minutes to "discover" that I have no internet, but this is the case. Anyway, I just thought I'd add both those bits of information.

 

Hey Malfix25! If the Xbox One consoles are connecting to the router with a wireless connection and the Ethernet is removed from the router the consoles may be losing connection to the host PC. try using a wired connection with the Xbox One consoles and see
if that helps keep the local connection going. Post back and let us know how it goes!

 

Hey! Thanks for responding, I figured it out, my previous router didn't support UPnP, so I used a different one, and it worked perfectly.
