Interesting but don't like the reporter voice and why include music,like an old radio show.Too theatrical for "the memory of a war reporter"

 

The fate of Halo rests in 343's hands. I'm very worried.

 

If 343 overcomplicates the story line and then doesn't produce a well thought out, non-clichéish campaign, it will be the end of Halo forever.

I'm concerned that is exactly what will happen.

They should be very, very careful about over-hyping this game.

The only real issue with this statement is the "non-clichéish" part. Stories have been told for millennia. A decent story can't be told without being laden with clichés. That doesn't
mean stories aren't good anymore, though. Nor does it mean that it should be the end of story telling, no matter what form it's in, forever. Video game campaigns haven't been around very long compared to story telling, but still, they're a very limited set
of criteria to work within.

Working within the scope of 'FPS, video game, campaign' narrows it down even more... what hasn't been done, that could be, working within that criteria? Probably not much.

Just like any good movie, book... story... Halo 5's campaign is bound to have its clichés. What will be the difference between meh and great, will be if 343 does a good job adding
their own flare and twists to the game and making the experience rewarding and engaging, despite the limitations.

 

Maybe I should've explained it a little better. My concern is, is that it will be primarily nothing but clichés and a not well thought-out storyline, and will be mediocre at best. And the more they hype this game, the more those weak points are going to
stand out when the game finally releases.

Also, they can do a good job of adding 'their own' "flare and twists", and the game still be crap.

 

This "memory of a war reporter" has nothing to do with the future of Halo.

It's just a part of "Halo journey",same as Halo MCC just to go deeper or having different point of view on previous games/events/lore.

I honestly think they have gone overboard with the hype in gaming altogether. How long is it until Halo 5 actually comes out and we're already getting teasers... and have been getting them for how long? By the time it finally gets released, I'll probably
be sick of hearing all the little bits and pieces.

Therefore, those who get sick of the long trail of hype are sitting there on release day going... "This game better be worth all this crap I've been hearing about it for ## months!", while those who can't get enough are ready to P themselves with anticipation.
Talk about amplifying anything that is wrong with the game... neither of those 2 situations are going to help... IMO

Last time,i heard or saw something official about Halo Guardians was after Halo 5 multiplayer beta when 343 gaves some beta statistics and feedbacks.

 

On my facebook page and other places, I see an article or write-up posted about it every few days. Whether it's a new story or an old one, doesn't really matter. Hype is hype. But I guess to some degree that too is subjective.

Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to Halo 5 and hope it's a great campaign/story. But too much talk/hype (perceived or otherwise), rarely these days do a game any actual good. To the contrary rather.
