    Halo 5 Guardians price is to high?


    Halo 5 is £70-£80 on the Xbox live Marketplace but on Amazon its £40, why is the price so high when the cheaper alterative has the same content?

    Halo 5 Guardians price is to high?

    This has been asked many many many times, but here we go, one more time.

    The reason for game prices being higher on the Xbox store compared to places like Amazon are as follows:

    1: The publisher sets the prices as the RRP (recommended retail price) places like Amazon don't, they can decide to make a smaller profit to move copies.

    2: The cost difference between digital/physical isn't that much, its pence for the case/disc etc. but Microsoft has to pay for server farms, IT technicians to maintain and obviously internet bandwidth.

    3: Microsoft simply doesn't want to undercut retail for the simple fact that Microsoft still requires Amazon etc to sell the hardware for them. If Microsoft were to match or undercut Amazon, they may find Amazon not stocking their hardware.

    Also, are you looking at the "Digital Deluxe Pre-Order"?

    That's £70 on the Xbox Store but the normal version is £45, which I agree is still higher than Amazon, but it's only £4 more expensive.

    Personally I think the standard version being £44.99 is not that bad for a digital game.

    If you buy XBL credit from CD Keys you will save money too and be able to get it for around the £40 mark I am sure.
