Halo 5- free to play until July 5th

From about 10pm BST tonight Halo 5 will be free to play until July 5th to celebrate the release of the new game mode.

The kicker? Well it's about an 81gb download

Downloaded Game Says It Needs Disk

Hi, I believe Halo 5 was part of a free play days thing which has now ended. That would explain why you can no longer play the game.

Still not showing as free for me yet.

 

1st person who gives me $5 gets my disc version.

 

I've actually learned two things in this thread.

1 - There are people who haven't purchased Halo 5.

2 - There are people who still buy disc.

 

I ended up buying it digitally so I could play it with my wife. Never did show up a free play as of the time I purchased which was 4:30 p.m. eastern. I just hope that she enjoys it. I had heard the firefight was pretty tough. I hope she can handle it
if there is no way to reduce difficulty.

 

Am I missing something here but is this the most boring game in the Halo franchise?

I don't even think I can bring myself to finish the single player,it's so dull.

I've played every other Halo game & quite enjoyed the story mode but this is just awful

 

^You're not alone... Imagine, in addition, only having a bare bones MP play list to start with and waiting 8 months (they just released what I think is the last of their "free content" a week or so ago) to get the full game. I gave up and walked away out
of sheer boredom after they released their poor excuse for BTB a few months after the game first released.

It'll be the last Halo I outright buy without question, just because it's "Halo".

I un-installed this game a long time ago and I have absolutely no intention of re-installing it.

It took me 3 1/2 hours to install this game when I first installed it. It would probably take me 4 to 5 hours to re-install the game now.

I've spent the last few nights happily playing through the campaign courtesy of MS! So thanks! Actually really enjoying it, It was only an 87GB download as well! Free gaming works for me!! ;-)

You must have a really fast internet connection to be able to download an 87 GB game with ease

........

It is ridiculous that it took me 3 1/2 hours to install Halo 5 the first time, and that was WAY BEFORE all of these updates were released.
