Halo 4 Achievements not unlocking

Hi.

In Halo 4's DLC, there are achievements that have been glitched for quite a few users. By glitched, I mean they simply won't unlock when the requirements are met. Even going far beyond the requirements, such as 40 kills instead of 5 or 6 don't seem to
do anything. The following achievements are known to be affected (personally I cannot get Ashes to Ashes). Also they are all cumulative (although size is everything must be done in one life):

• Ashes to Ashes
• Clever Girl
• Bird of Prey
• Pigs Can Fly
• Size is Everything
• Hello Nurse!

The issue seemed to start popping up after a title update came out alongside or close to the Champion's Bundle DLC on August 20, 2013. People experiencing the issue said they contacted both Xbox Support and 343; they said Support told them to go to 343,
and 343 said go to Support (also, 343 even told some people that they weren't doing the achievements right, but only because they didn't understand). On January 24, 2014, 343 created this thread:

Since then, the only responses in the thread seem to say the same thing: "We're investigating, stay tuned". Since 9 months have gone by, people seem to believe that the issue won't be fixed especially since they are making the Master Chief Collection and
Halo 5. That being said, no one will have a reason to play Halo 4 on 360(since it will be in the MCC) and thus no one can ever finish the game and its achievements(well, they can, but it will be much harder to find people).

So what I'm trying to say is that maybe Xbox Support can help us? People have waited on 343 for over a year, and I know Xbox Support has been doing a good job getting the recent achievement issues fixed. If there's any way you can help out, many of us would
appreciate it.

Achievements have not unlocked still since day one

This is getting really tiresome. Now Forerunner Halo 4 achievement not unlocking. Seriously, why is this still occurring?

Hey Rory! Thanks so much for making this thread! It does a tremendous job of helping us keep the two issues separate and not get confused as we work through them.

That being said, let's dive into this issue!

I took a gander at the Halo Waypoint forum thread you linked (excellent job linking that, btw!) and it does look like they're aware of the issue an looking into it. However, if it's still happening for you after waiting this long, it certainly couldn't hurt
to have another team bubble it up to them.

If you can, please have anyone you know (who's currently experiencing this issue) post in this thread with details on exactly which achievement they're having trouble unlocking. The more folks I have, the better picture I can paint for everyone I bubble
this up to.

I'll go ahead and start my investigation with you. Just to be sure: Is the only achievement you're having trouble with "Ashes to Ashes"?

Yes only Ashes to Ashes was affected for me. I have all the other achievements on the list. I got all of the other achievements before the issue started happening for users EXCEPT for Hello Nurse. I got that one just a few weeks ago. In fact here are
the dates of these achievements:

Clever Girl: 2/25/13

Bird of Prey: 6/12/13

Pigs Can Fly: 2/27/13

Size is Everything: 1/8/13 (Also I was mistaken in the OP when I said that Size is Everything must be done in one life; I had it confused with another achievement. Therefore, ALL achievements affected are cumulative)

Hello Nurse!: 8/30/14

If I had to guess why Ashes to Ashes was affected but Hello Nurse was not, I believe it may be based on if you had any progress toward the achievement before the Champion's Bundle (and the Title Update) came out. The reason being is that I never use the
regeneration field, which is required for Hello Nurse, but I use forerunner weapons which would count towards Ashes to Ashes. I believe I played 1 game on the Castle DLC maps before the glitches started happening(I wasn't into Halo 4 that much at the time),
and in that game I could have easily gotten progress towards the achievement. And since I didn't use regen field, I wouldn't have gotten progress for Hello Nurse, which maybe why I was able to unlock that one.

I'm sorry to say that I don't have any updates on this as of yet. I just wanted to stop by and make sure you knew that this is still on my radar and I haven't forgotten about it.

Hey! 343 said they released an update to fix the issue and sure enough I got the achievement when I went to the game! Thank you so much for investigating!

Enough about that. It definitely looks like things are finally up and running properly with those achievements! Woo Hoo! I'm absolutely stoked to be able to say that!
