Halo 3 ODST "installation stopped" at 100% for many people

We have the Master Chief Collection update installed and the disc is in the console, but when the ODST download reaches 100% it simply says "Installation stopped".

Pressing A on it gives the error "Try again later. Sorry, we are unable to launch this at the moment. Thank you for your patience. (0x87de2726)".

Selecting 'Try installing again' simply starts the "installation stopped" process all over again.

I've tried uninstalling and redownloading, clearing the Xbox cache (hard reset) and even having Halo MCC running and not running while downloading.

ODST appears in the Halo 3 menu of the game but cannot be launched, and takes you to the Xbox store to download it. Where it doesn't exist yet (because only those of us with free "apology" codes have access to ODST right now).

Well, seeing as ODST was mostly filler to hold fans over until the release of Reach, I'd say that game is entirely optional. The series stopped feeling like Halo at that point.

for anyone that has got the installation stopped problem you have to update the main game(2.4GB) once that has completed it should allow you to complete the ODST installation, also in game you find ODST's campaign inside the halo 3 tab.

 

Same here installation stopped uninstalled to try again and not available on store :-(

 

I am also getting this message.

Am at 100%, Installation Stopped and will not continue on restart.

also not getting the option to run on the game

 

Looks like everyone has the same issue.

 

You can reinstall by going to MCC and choosing 'manage game', it appears as dlc for the game.

 

I can see the Option to run ODST in the game menu under Halo 3 -> Halo 3 ODST

Though it cannot run and needs DLC

 

nothing, 100% installation and nothing, installation stopped....

 

It seems to be a UK/Europe issue - the file we have on our store is smaller than the actual ODST file. Switching console region to the US has fixed it for some people (I'm currently trying mine now)

The problem can be fixed 100% of the time by switching your console region to US and redownloading ODST. If you download from your own region, most people are getting a weird 7gb file rather than the actual 8.1gb ODST file - that's why it's stopping at 100%.

 

The problem is the download - if downloading from a non-US region, sometimes you get a 7gb file rather than the actual 8.1gb ODST file you're supposed to get.

Changing your console region to US and then downloading it fixes the problem 100% of the time (for myself and everyone I've spoken to on reddit, twitter and the official Halo forums).
