I'm not buying Halo. I think the FPS genre is getting old and tired. I've played 1000's of hours in military type shooters but the sci-fi genre MP always turned me off.

You look at the most popular and top rated games for the One and they aren't shooters. So even someone who never wants to play a FPS has plenty to do on the One and is in fact playing some of the best games the system has to offer.

  3. Halo isn't for everyone, sure, but this is a great package for $60, and again, even playing it co-op with 1 friend will have endless fun. Especially seeing 12 years of a specific franchise evolution.

I'll be playing it co-op with gamers who never played some of them during their launch time, that's gonna be awesome.

I'll be playing Halo 1s MP online over XBL with guys who we only played LAN with.

Playing Halo 2 online again for the first time in 7 years, with better servers & performance.

The old magic may not fully return but the enjoyment will be there.

Anyone who owns an XB1 should play this collection, plain & simple, if only for amount of content & to see just what Xbox brought to the industry.

    Halo 2 hype?

Well, if you listen to the current executives who were uninvolved with the original project, nothing. But that game lead the industry into a black hole and was one of the only titles remembered once it arrived on the other side. The legacy of Halo 2 is massive.
Even Microsoft's current AI system is dubbed after a Halo character. Microsoft garnered lots of brand loyalty with that game.

It's just such a shame because the people they've put in charge of the franchise have shown it absolutely no love. They're trying to monopolize it for every penny, and have driven away many fans. I wouldn't be surprised if the franchise dries up in another
few years. With fond memories of Halo 2, and it's ensuing degeneration.

  5. Actually, I think 343i has learned greatly from their recent efforts on continuing the Halo franchise, and so I expect future efforts to be very high-quality.

I watched that Halo documentary last night. It's a well-produced piece, for sure. I'm loving the ride on the hype-train. Halo 2 hype? :p

With so much content in the Master Chief Collection, I imagine it would make sense to start single-player story campaigns with Halo 1 and just keep going from there. I'm not sure what to do with the online PvP multiplayer choices, though. It seems that finding
a group of regulars to play with would be a good idea, otherwise I'll just be map-hopping aimlessly, I reckon. Gah, so many options. Halo 2 hype? :D

  7. Hello everyone Halo 2 hype? :)

Here is my history with the Halo franchise

    ..........

Halo: Combat Evolved --> I only played the Campaign Mode. I love the story Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo 2 --> I only played the Campaign Mode. I love the story Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo 3 --> I only played the Campaign Mode. I love the story Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo 3 ODST --> I only played the Campaign Mode. I love the story Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo Reach --> I played the Campaign Mode and Horde Mode (solo) only. My all time number one favorite Halo game ever Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo Wars --> I skipped it because I don't play RTS games at all.

Halo 4 --> I only played Spartan Ops, I don't care about the story anymore.

Halo Spartan Assault --> I skipped it because I prefer Halo to be an FPS, not a Twin Stick Shooter.

Halo 5 Guardians --> I don't care about this game at all.

    ..........

I love the Master Chief and Cortana, but " I " feel that Bungie wanted the Master Chief to go home back to Earth at the end of Halo 3; then 342 Industries wouldn't allow that.

As a result of changing the ending of Halo 3, 343 Industries was able to link Halo 3 to Halo 4. Now we have Halo 5 Guardians on the way and Halo 6 in the distant horizon.

Now, before a reader or readers of this post say to me that I hate 343 Industries on how they handled Halo 4; you couldn't be more wrong because 343 Industries did an absolutely amazing job with Halo 4 and I wish them (343 Industries) the best of luck with
the Halo 5 Guardians and Halo 6 Halo 2 hype? :)

Long story short, let the Master Chief & Cortana rest people; they're other Spartans out there too you know LOL Halo 2 hype? :)

    ..........

Destiny has replaced Halo as my FPS game Halo 2 hype? :)

    ..........

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone Halo 2 hype? :)

  8. Halo 2 hype?

I think Halo 4 had a great story, especially between MC & Cortana. I may be more impressed with it because I wasn't sure 343i could keep it going without Bungie, and boy was I wrong. Now that I played Destiny, I'm glad Bungie left, the only magic they had
    was with Halo.

Halo 1 I was more impressed with the game play & new experience.

Halo 2s story was only played once because then I got into Online.

Halo 3 story was played a few times by me, beat it 4P co-op the night of release. Didn't play much MP at the time because I got into COD4.

Halo 3 ODST had a great story campaign & Firefight was great.

Halo Reach was cool, it was like the Titanic of the franchise, we knew what was going to happen.

Anyway, the Collection is an amazing package & it better than backwards compatibility. I still have all my discs for the 2 other Xbox consoles, but just for collection, no reason to go back to play them.

  9. Hello "CollapseControl" Halo 2 hype? :)

Halo Master Chief Collection is going to be epic, but I would rather spend my $66.00 experiencing a new game instead Halo 2 hype? :)

In regards to Destiny, I am disappointed that the Campaign Mode was severely lacking and I am hoping that the story will be more fleshed out in the future because having to go on-line to read the " Grimiore Cards " is just being plain lazy from Bungie in
my opinion LOL Halo 2 hype? :)

  10. Halo: Combat Evolved has to be the best Halo game, because it is the first. It innovated everything, save the Xbox Live functionality which Halo 2 astutely pioneered. Halo 2 was yet another innovator in the franchise and in FPS gaming, and yet it lacked
something that made Combat Evolved.. better. Perhaps this is because the game was never properly finished, but rushed by Bungie due to time constraints. However, it lives on as probably the greatest Halo game simply because of the memories made by many thousands
    of players.

By the time Halo 3 came around, there were signs that, while Bungie still had a plan for the games, they were growing tired of what was an old formula. Halo 3 was the tried-and-true of the previous games, with various refinements. It stands out to me as
the "worst" in the franchise, mainly because it seems stale. This is not to say I don't like it, or that it isn't a good game; I do and it is, simply because of the overall quality Bungie put into the making of it.

ODST was more of an expansion pack but arguably better (or worse) than Halo 3. It had new characters and developed them well. It was an experiment .Firefight was one of its best features, and this trend of a third game mode would continue on in later games
I can't comment on the previously released Halo Wars, as I've never played it or had any interest in it. (I don't like RTS games.)

Reach is yet another pioneer in the franchise, and is my second-favorite game besides Combat Evolved. With the introduction of Spartan IIIs, Armor Abilities, new weapons, and a reconstructed gaming experience that was somewhat similar to the first Halo,
it was Bungie's last hurrah, but a magnificent one at that. Its Firefight mode is my favorite out of the two versions to choose from, due to new customization possibilities, and its easier playstyle.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was 343's preliminary venture into the creation of a Halo game, and was mostly lent to another company, Sabre Industries, for its remastering. It stands out as another of my favorites, and showed the possibilities that new
technology offers for updating new games exceptionally well, though it was littered with various odd glitches. (These, it could be argued, made it unique and enjoyable just as much as the original.)

Halo 4, as 343 Industries' first Halo game all their own, attempted to be a great pioneer, exploring new options for the franchise, and yet these same changes gathered much hatred from the Halo community. Personally, I consider it a decent game, but 343i
seemed to focus mostly on the shock and awe of the first playthrough; the game became, for me atleast, less and less enjoyable as I replayed it. This is probably due to the brevity of the campaign levels, as well as the Xbox Live Gold exclusive Spartan Ops,
which I was disappointed in for the self-same reason.

As with Halo Wars, I can't comment on Spartan Assault because I've never played it.

Halo 2 Anniversary appears to be the ultimate culmination of the remastering effort, boostered by the Xbox One's advanced hardware.

I look forward to it. Halo 2 hype? :)

    Halo 2 hype?

There seems to be some huge confusion. Halo 2 did not have epic MP it was simply first to have MP via a thing called Xbox LIVE with a Matchmaking System and Party System.

It really isn't no better then any Game to date nor was it actual Game-play. It was simply it was the first to do what everyone who Joined Online Gaming at a later date takes for granted in any Games Matchmaking/ Party System. None of this existed prior to
Halo 2. That's what it did, not the Game itself.
