Halo 2 Co-Op over Live not connecting

I am having trouble connecting a Halo 2 Co-Op game over Live.

Specifically I am looking to play with my 67 year old father. We have no problem playing Halo, Halo 3, or Halo 4 Co-Op over Live (well, some lag, but whatever).

We both have open NATs. We have both deleted the game and reinstalled. We have both done the full power off of the system (held power button for 10 seconds).

We've created parties outside the game, inside the game, invite to just a game w/ no party and every iteration, from both sides of the Internet, to get this to work. Nothing. Not one working connection.

He had a strict NAT at one point, I fixed that. Though even with a strict NAT we were playing every other Halo game without issue.

Nothing. We are fast approaching 3 weeks of complete frustration with MCC. I realize the focus has been MP for fixes, but can someone please help us with this? My Dad is at a point he wants to completely quit the game, and I just want to enjoy the games
with him again.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for things to try?

Will the Halo MC Collection Break Sales Records?

rm ok now i am worried on the video he says it wont support 4 player co op it will stay true to how it used to be so does this mean halo 2 will not do 2 player co op as halo 2 didnt have co op anyway

After nearly 3 weeks of trying, my Dad and I finally had a co-op game of Halo2 connect last night. We almost just kept playing until we finished the game with how much of a joke it's been trying to get a single connection.

Wish I knew who to thank for fixing it, but I'm guessing no one did anything, and it was just a glitch in the game that finally allowed us to connect. My guess? Tonight it won't work again.
