Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign Might not be 1080p

What Is The BEST Game In Your XBOX ONE Library?

I bit hard to pick from, but I'm going to award it too Halo MCC. Halo 2 Campaign is stunning. CE campaign looks better than the remastered campaign in Halo CE Anniversary on 360.

My other favourite Xbox 1 games are Zoo Tycoon, Minecraft and Forza Horizon 2. I might get The Crew tomorrow or on the weekend.

 

Here's a thought - if you don't really care Auswolf, why post? Besides, if it's just campaign that's not going to be 1080p but multiplayer is, that still technically means that the game is capable of 1080p...

I struggle to see how they aren't capable of getting such an old game running at 1080p, upgraded graphics or not. Especially if the multiplayer will be 1080p. That just doesn't make sense, really.

 

UW, I think they said they are struggling to hit it as they are running two graphics engines side by side as your able to switch between the old engine and the new instantly with out pause. Which I can only assume takes alot of effort to do even on a 10
year old game.

 

Why would this matter, the game never was 1080 in the past.

That's like being mad at an Asteroids rematch that was not 1080. It just does not matter cause the game is awesome.

 

The old game running at 1080p is probably fine.

It's the new shiny running at 1080p that is probably a problem. Recall that Halo Anniversary runs both the original game and the new shiny at the same time. That's what makes it possible to switch on the fly between them while playing.

 

They say it's so you can switch between original and new graphics, something to do with running two renderers, can't see the point meself, but then nostalgias not what it used to be.

 

I wouldn't even notice. As long as it has online co-op I'll be happy. Halo 2 is the only one I didn't play co-op fully.

I think it is so sad that starting within the past year every game that gets talked about has mentions of Res & fps. Not saying that it hasn't been around for a long long time, but it was rarely, if ever, talked about in the console space.

Been reading articles of gaming and posting in these forums since 2005, and it was never talked about this much.

Its sad to see people forget what gaming is really about.

 

Yes @Collapse it is sad. I am just happy that they are releasing the collection for X1. Then again people will look for anything to cry about and usually when they cannot find anything else they complain about resolution or FPS.

Honestly, the enhanced graphics alone for Halo 2 (despite the fact that it isn't 1080p @ 60 fps) isn't a problem for me.

While nice graphics is a nice bonus indeed, the controls / mechanics / gameplay are WAY more important because they have a much greater impact on how much fun the player is going to have.

With that said, I would rather play a game with 720p @ 30 fps that runs smoothly as opposed to a game that does 1080p @60fps but has laggy controls & tons of screen tearing / pop-ins.

Well I am sorry I thought id post something I found to share and discuss. So far I have been called a troll and insulted. No wonder the Xbox forums have turned rotten and people avoid them like the plague.

I will say this for the last time. I don't care what resolution the game is as long as it plays excellent which it no doubt will play brilliantly. The resolution isn't a big issue to me.

But for some people it does matter and they have a right to now. If it didnt matter 343 wouldn't of promised the game to be 1080p to begin with.

I'm really sorry if I offended you (as it wasn't my intention at all), please forgive me.

I was simply pointing out the fact to those that define the "Next Generation Gaming" solely on that fact that the games need to be 1080p @ 60 fps.

Yes, it would be nice for a game to run with 1080p @ 60 fps. But if the developer is having problems with hitting that mark (1080p @ 60 fps), give that developer a break people. If making video games is so easy, then everyone should be able to crank out
AAA every single time shouldn't they?

With that being said, please don't get mad / angry at me with my previous statement. Its just that this arguement of "how dare this game not be 1080p @ 60 fps" is getting ridiculous.

Yes, I understand that we expect the Xbox One to be better than the Xbox 360. It takes time to understand how to get the most out of this new hardware. Does anyone ever notice how the games that are released in the Middle to End cycle of a console tend
to be MUCH better than the ones that were available at launch?
