    I have looked and looked for an answer to this question... What is the Xbox App checking packet loss to?

    When I run the test on the xbox app from my windows 10 PC... which streaming has been working fine up until about 3 days ago.

    It says:

    Network status

    Internet connection: Connected

    Xbox Live services: Up and running

    Teredo address: Obtained

    Packet loss: 50%

    Latency: 95ms

    When I run ping test to my xbox from my PC I get 1ms latency and no packet loss at all. When I run the stream test everything is perfect. I looked at some of my connections leaving the xbox and one of the IP's it is going to 134.170.178.34 is the only one
    I can see that is having packet loss... conveniently roughly 49 - 50%.

    I am not sure why an outbound connection has anything to do with my streaming from one device to another within my network but this is the only thing I can find that matches. I am looking for some support on what could cause this?, Why is this impacting
    my streaming resulting in a half pixelated screen?.

    Please keep in mind that play from the xbox itself results in absolutely no issues.

    I have done the following to eliminate as much as I can.

    I have 2 isp's coming into my home - 1 for home 1 for work. To rule out my network/router I switched both my pc and xbox to my other ISP connection and tested - the result was the exact same.

    On my existing network I isolated the two devices both with hard wired connections and tried both 2.4 and the 5Ghz bands... no bueno. Please let me know what else I can look at to help resolve this... I love the streaming capability to my PC especially when
    my Wife/Kids take up the TV!

    Hi,

    Has anyone else experienced half a pixelated screen when streaming your xbox to your laptop?

    It's very frustrating and I have no idea how to over come this issue, I will add that it happens on both the standard xbox app and the xbox beta app.

    Streaming video quality

    I am noticing a distinct difference between the 360 and the One when streaming video using wireless. Specifically, Netflix on the 360 when streaming produced a high videlity/high quality image. on the One the image is pixelated and not HD. I am using the
    same network.

  5. I have been having the same issues ever since the app was updated a few days ago. I have spoken to chat support but they had no idea what was going on and were not able to help.

    in our reports so the developers are aware this issue is being observed by multiple end users.

    Half Pixelated screen when streaming!

    Is there any update on this? Now been experiencing this issue since the last app release so looking at about 2 weeks. Is there anyway to revert to a previous working version?

    I also have not received any information to my inquiry. What is the Xbox App checking packet loss and latency to?

    I find it a big coincidence that it shows 50% packet loss and 95ms latency and I am having 50% of my screen pixelated.

    Hi Zero, We don't have any further updates to provided, but the developers have been informed of this issue and are investigating. IF you continue to observe this issue especially after an update please report this again and let us know.

    I come from the world of tech support so I can certainly understand the struggles in reproducing issues. I am willing to help in anyway I can. I think looking at where the App checks for packet loss / latency is a good place to start. So understanding how
    that is checking those factors and what it is checking it to can help me work a solution. Can the developers provide any information regarding that? Is the IP I first suggested the correct one that it is reaching out to? Also why does the stream need this?
    If this is an issue downstream from my ISP I can work that from my end also. I just want to understand this better so I can help find a solution. If you need specs on my CPU / Network devices / ISP please let me know in a PM and I'll happily provide it.

    Just wanted to make you aware whatever has changed today infrastructure wise has resolved the issue. This morning eastern time the issue was still present however just checked again and the app is showing 0% packet loss and the stream is clear and functional.
