    Half my games on Xbox Game Pass won't work


    So I had this issue earlier this month and had to call customer support and screenshare and it ended up eventually getting fixed. i wish I knew what they did but him and I both were trying things to get it to work. I am hoping someone on here has gone through same thing or knew someone who went through it and knows the fix. The 2 Games not working are Dead by Daylight and Fallout 76. The error code I get for DBD is Cannot connect to online services. Please try again later. Error Code: 8,001. The error message I get from Fallout 76 is Vault-Tec emgineers are hard at work getting our servers back online. (No region ping) 1:5:1. I have tried clearing the xbox cache, I have looked to make sure all games are up to date. I have looked to make sure my subscription is still good. I have tried repair. Pretty much the only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling and reinstalling which I don't want to do. Fallout 76 is what 150 gb? And DBD is 30 to 50 gb? And I have 5 mbps download. It would take days. Haven't really found anything online except someone saying it might be gaming services' in services.msc which sounds like it could be considering it's acting like I can't connect to servers. Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 are working just fine. I'm just hoping someone has the answer as I can't get ahold of customer service for another 5+ hours and if they don't have what the previous person did it's just gonna be another long wait of trying to find out what's wrong and getting it fixed.

    Just in case anyone have this happen to them and can't find a fix I have good news and bad news. The good news is I know of a way to fix it. The bad news is you will have to completely re-install windows. Since it was acting like the servers were down I figured it had to be gaming services services.msc but I uninstalled and reinstalled the registry in powershell to make sure it was working but game still wouldn't run. I found someone else on the internet that just so happened to think it was gaming services and tried the same things I did. After trying everything they reinstalled windows and it worked. I didn't have windows 11 because my pc wasn't compatible so figured I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I downloaded pc health checker to see why it wasn't. It was a simple thing. Because my pc is custom and one I built it didn't automatically have tpm 2.0 enabled in bios because I just never thought to do it lol. Couldn't get windows 11 all this time and just because I didn't enable tpm. On a side note am I the only one thinks the minimum requirements for windows 11 is weird? Like tpm, bluetooth, certain display resolution. I've used windows since 95 and don't remember all these quirky things I have to have. Maybe it was always there and I just never read into it it much. Sorry for the tangent, anyway if your xbox games for pc are not connecting to servers or downloading updates after trying everything reinstall windows and it will probably work. I feel like I should get a paycheck for figuring this **** out I worked on it so long lol.

    The soft factory reset worked and I didn't erase the games and such but I dont see anything about my game pass or my xbox live which I have a year and a half of.

    Thanks for clarifying! Definitely give xrem's suggestion a shot to see if that helps. Be sure to search for Sea of Thieves in the Microsoft Store app to install. Ensure that you are signed into the Microsoft Store app with the account that owns the Game
    Pass. Keep us posted!

    My Xbox Game Pass Won't Work

    Hey Tristan,

    If you're unable to install the game after subscribing to the Xbox Game Pass, try power cycling your Xbox One console by holding the power button down. Once your console powers down, boot back up and try installing from the Game Pass section of the 'My games
    & apps' section (in the Subscriptions tab).

    Give it a shot and let us know if that helps.
