Had this console for a while but it will not read disc

I got the Xbox One as a gift from family friends like 2 weeks ago and the only problem I'm having is that I cant play disc. I looked in the forums for help but all I found was other xbox players getting mad cause they weren't getting a straight answer (
the thread was back when the XB1 was first release)

Is there a straight simple answer on how to get the console to fix this?

(seriously it shouldn't be this hard for a console to read a disc, honestly that to me as a gamer is a major flaw for a gaming system)

xbox problems again

so I have been black ops 2 for a while now and one day I came home and the xbox would not read the disc I tried everything except for takeing the console apart it will read regular dvds but it will not read xbox 360 games and this is the last xbox product
I buy this has happened to me 3 times with 3 different Xboxes I have had my ps3 6 years now and have never had any problems with it so any help would be great

One temporary quick fix that can be used is to hold the disc for a second while it starts to pull the disc in. This doesn't always work, but usually makes it so that the console will read it the first time. You just have to hold the disc while it's being
pulled in for about 1 second, then let it go.

 

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as you with my console not reading discs. I'm in the midst of getting my console replaced as it is a flaw in the disc reader. If you just got the console, you should still be under warranty. Go to support.xbox.com to
get a console replacement started.
