HAD first Problem with ONE..solved with new HDMI cable, but had questions?.

Hi Guys..

Had my first issue.....Since I have had my ONE (6 days)...sometimes the TV picture from the cable box routed through the ONE would freeze....Tried the cable box alone to the TV, no issue....

Next, I tried replacing the Apple cable I had running to the ONE from the cable box with my old 360 MS cable....and that worked fine and fixed the issue...in fact, the pic is even better...way sharper......so my question are this...I want to buy a spare
cable:

• Are the specs for HDMI different from the 360 to the ONE? (want to buy an up to date cable)
  
• Should I invest in an MS OEM cable....or just figure my 5 year old APPLE cable was worn out or loose from using these past years
  
• Has anyone had any issues with non MIcrosoft OEM cables?
• And good brands out there?..Amazon has quite a few with good ratings,

Xbox One TV glitching

I had the same problem and solved it the same way.

 

TV Through Console

Lg 47" 3d tv with sky 2tb box, working excellent, had problem with losing sky signal to tv but this turned out to be a problem with the hdmi cable between sky box and xbox 1, replaced with a high quality cable and problem solved.

 

I had to replace my HDMI's too..

Just get some cheap ones from walmart

 

Because HDMI is a digital signal there shouldn't be any difference in quality of the transmission through the cable. Buying one with a gold plated connector may hold small advantages due to it not having any effect of oxidisation but I've personally never
spent more than £5 on a HDMI cable and never will.

 

It could be that the old cable went by an older standard than what is required in the Xbox One

The cable in the xbox one is 1.4 if yours was less than that then you may have problems

edit: just reread what you posted and it was the cable from the Cable box to the XB1 ... forget what I posted above

I have never seen a HDMI cable go bad..in fact, the one I was using was in my cable box to TV before I hooked up the ONE....

Has anyone ever seen that hyappen when you switched devices?

Is the ONE cable the same one they packed with the 360?....or is it a newer design that supports 1.4

 

I would say the one hdmi is an updated design that can run better resolution as well as multiple digitAl feeds. Any hdmi cable on the market will do just fine.
