ALRIGHT THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE!!!!! I was playing Rainbow Six Siege with my friend and these 2 people who had a fake account called [Mod Removed] were playing. They invited me to their party, but I did not join. My friend joined their party and I dont know
what was said during the time my friend was in the party but he said they forced his account to go offline and kick him off his wifi. So I was looking at this person’s fake account and found a friend that i knew was in a party while my friend was in there
and I went on this [Mod Removed] account profile and found his instagram and he had videos of
hacking peoples IP address and knocking them off the party!!!!! Then after it took my friend a million of times to join back to my party but it kept disconnecting. EVERYONE AND XBOX NEEDS TO HELP XBOX USERS NOT GET THEIR IP ADDRESS HACKED!!!!
IF U GO ON INSTAGRAM AND FIND DEFAULTHAXX HE HAS VIDEOS FROM HACKING A PERSON IN CANADA. PLEASE HELP REPORT THIS HACKER AND TAKE HIM DOWN FROM XBOX!!!

Xbox One WiFi problem

If you have a router, give the xbox one a static IP address, make sure it's 'doled' out by it's MAC address.

Do that and if it's still giving you problems like that, toss that static IP on a DMZ.

I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?

Is it possible that a neighbor has a WiFi broadcasting on the same channel?

Some WiFi routers have a diagram showing nearby WiFi accesspoints and their WiFi channel.

Be aware that WiFi channels block the two adjacent frequency channels up and down the chosen channel.

So if a neighbor has chosen Channel 6 for their WiFi, channels 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are occupied by that neighbor WLAN. So if you have chosen channel 8 for example, your WiFi overlaps on channels 6, 7 and 8, which might lead to the problems you describe.

Check to see that each device using a static IP has a default gateway IP set to the IP of the router. Most routers let you use specific IP addresses to specific devices because of the MAC address.

Well the thing i have a new wifi network that i have to put the password in, i am blind sided due to the hdmi slot being broken so im trying to find a way to get the ip address

For the Xbox App and Smartglass to work, they need to be on the same network. I suspect your college has set up their network in such a way that the ethernet connection and WiFi network are different subnets, which would prevent this Xbox connection from
working. Is there any way to get your console onto the WiFi network instead? Or maybe the laptop onto the wired network? Simply doing this could resolve your issue.
