Hackers?

So far I'm wondering if someone is hacking the game for their own benefit, I joined the Forest Hunters and invaded someone when I was level 90 but what I discovered about them is that none of my weapons were doing anything, I don't know if they're just a
higher level but none of the damage registers I backstabbed her 2 times and nothing, his/her gamer tag is Cobra2o2, the first time I encountered someone who I think was hacking I didn't get their gt...

specialist update them for you. Once that is done, the error will go away, and all will be right with the world.

 

Sounds like lag to me. I've fought plenty of PvP battles like this where connection issues made it difficult to land hits.

 

There are hacks out there where you can't do damage to them, and some of these hackers do hang out in the forest.

How did the backstab animation go? When it happened, did it show the other person backstabbing you first, before changing to show you backstabbing them? If that happened, then no damage is done. While you were backstabbing, were you able to move around?
If that happened, then it means that they did damage to you just as you were stabbing them and it cancels all damage.

It could have been hacking, it could have been lag, it could have been damage cancels...one thing it could not have been is simply a higher level. No matter what level one is, they cannot completely cancel out damage that way.

 

the last time I played I was invaded and the guy just stood in front of me and let me hack away at him. then after a while he hit me a couple of times and I died! there was no doubt in my mind the guy was hacking!

 

The animation went down the way they usually go; him getting stabbed and getting kicked to the floor I managed to do this two times, and the way I know there was no lag is because he had a phantom and I managed to kill him and there was no delay with hits
or the back-stabs, and there was even a forest invader who came in and got killed no delay when he got hit. So I'm positive to say this guy was hacking.

 

So, if it's in the forest, the best thing to do is try to knock them off a cliff. Gravity still kills them.

 

i ran into a modder today named Xanthous Demon i Know he modded 1.reason is bc i used dark bead the hit him with my moonlight sword no damage taken and 2.bc i wrote him n said hacker he writes back and says hes not a hacker that he uses the hackers program
to modify his health bar but he didnt make the program therefor im a modder he says this happend in Anor Londo

 

LOL. As if it makes a difference. I always imagine someone looking smugly at the screen while saying something stupid like he's only modding, which makes it all OK, right? As if there's a difference between making hacks and simply using the hacks that
someone else has already made.

 

Yes, unfortunately there are hackers/modders who cheat in this game and the situation is getting worse. What you can do is submit a negative player review for unsporting conduct (I honestly believe this doesn't do anything but do it for the heck of it).
Then file two complaints through their profiles. One for cheating and one for system tampering. In order to cheat in this game, they have to tamper with their save files, so system tampering also applies here. Then post them in a forum so that a moderator/employee/etc.
can see them and make a case. Make sure though that the suspect is cheating for sure though. Keep in mind that the maximum possible health in the game is 2633, but you will rarely ever come across someone with this much health. There are several items and
spells in the game that provide impressive (and almost overpowered) health regeneration also. They are also these things called Zero Backstabs/Counter Backstabs. These occur when 2 players backstab each other at the same time, so their damages cancel each
other out. The animation will also look extremely unusual.

 

The only thing I would say is that naming people on the forum doesn't actually do anything. There's a policy against naming and shaming, so your post, if seen by a mod, will simply be scrubbed of the offending names. And, I can sort of see why, because
they don't know the person in question is hacking and they can't simply take your word for it. I had someone accuse me of hacking because I rolled through a fireball and took no damage (fat rolling with a Havel cosplay, no less - SKILL!!! LOL). If that person
had posted my GT here and accused me of hacking, I wouldn't like it very much. Granted, it lets people who are hacking off the hook, but it seems like one of those situations where XBL decided it's better to protect the innocent.

Trust me, I've been tempted in the past to report the gamertags of hackers myself, but forum rules have always forbidden it. If you've been specifically told to do this, then great. I just worry that it will open the door to all kinds of accusations flying
around of people hacking/cheating, both true and not true.

 

If the person had no health bar they modded, it's pretty common of an issue unfortunatly.

 

The forest/ Anor londo is known quite well for having hackers, i do pvp almost every day and if you ask the person above me he can tell you the same thing that he see about 5-10 modders/hackers every day, some of infinite health or stamina, theirs some who
can't be back-stabbed, theirs other that have mega mules and can swap entire armor weapons and rings with a single button or command but of course there are some people who will say anything to convince themselves that YOUR the hacker, such as the other day
when i killed someone he instantly accused me of having infinite stamina when he hit my shield 3 times and i didn't stagger, so sometimes they may seem like hacking but most of the time they are.
