Hackers and modders--What should I be looking for?

Hey all. I'm in the "mature" category of gamers, having come back to Ghosts after 25 years of not playing anything. I see and hear a lot about people trying to get the upper hand in this game but what exactly should I be looking for? Are there things that
should clue me in to when someone may not be playing by the rules. I'm not trying to start a flame war but after so many years away its very hard to know what should and shouldn't happen. (I've watched a bunch of stuff on Youtube and it can be depressing to
see the lengths some people will go) Any suggestions?

Cheaters, hackers, and modders should be banned from the servers not put in a pool of other people like them.

 

Hacker in GTA IV

I have full evidence and proof (pictures) of the hackers/modders. Where should I send them to?

 

I'd say just play the game and have fun, most of the mods people may have don't alter the game at all such as different colored clan tags, and the amount of people that actually have those mods/hacks is so minuscule. Lots of people will say someone is modding/hacking
if they're getting killed by a good player.

And if someything is obviously wrong .... like you sratr racking up rediculous amount of points, levelling up too fast etc........ DASHBOARD ... or power off your console. Dont just back out. Immediately disconnecting should normally keep any altered stats
from saving.

XP, rank, prestige lobbies are about the only major issue I've heard of, and not all that common

I always check the lobby leaderboards & see if theres anything out of the ordinary, like a big score per game etc. In-game, I would check ppls kills & deaths when a helicopter is called in, i'll give an example, I was in a game recently when a guy called
in a chopper gunner 3 times in a match when he had a score of 34-17, thats pretty much impossible unless you go on a 33 kill streak, which he didn't. I then checked his trophies & he had just 1 trophy, I made the complaint. Thats what I look for.

You'll not see it a hell of a lot (well I don't), but when it happens you will know whos cheating & whos not. Its normally guys that are 10th prestige.

 

Online gaming and the internet/connections in general cause 99%of WTF moments in CoD and most (99%) of those are NOT hax/mods. Mods/hax are out there of course, but as mentioned, not very common. If you do encounter them, dashboard or cut power/connection
to the game immediately and reboot and play again. Dashboarding or cutting power (on the Xbone) will keep the hax from permanently infecting/harming your account. Its best to avoid these things.

 

Thanks for the tips guys. The power down is the most surprising at first, but makes the most sense whenI thgink of it.

 

And you can always head to squads, if someone is cheating on your team, you seem to never know or are effected.

Just to be clear, a colored clan tag IS a hack? I have seen them so much, I thought it was something you get from clan wars or some other game mode.

 

To my understanding gold is the only colored clan tag you can earn. There is also something about the brackets.Not sure but I think the brackets around it should not be gold.



I saw some red ones in a lobby the other night and just left before the match began.
