    So I mistook a guy in recent players for some other toxic kid on MW. Immediately this person sends me my IP adress to intimidate me. I'm not gonna be scared by a kid on a laptop, and I didn't provoke but i called his bluff. Couple minutes later i get booted
    offline for about 5 minutes. Thinking my internet is acting up, it's not the best but never has it been for just a short period of time like 5 minutes. If my internet cuts out i have to restart it. Just what it is. I get back on to see my friend who i was
    playing with and had nothing to do with this guy, was on the xbox app instead of MW. So i call them up and ask them if they got off. The hacker harassed my friend, insulting them and said they leaked my friend's address to the internet. I managed to block
    the kid before getting booted, but once i learned what happened to my friend i unblocked them. I told them they didnt even do anything and I was the one who texted him, why bully an innocent? He goes on to harrass my friend and me. He even Comm bans my friend
    for 24 hours. My friend didn't break code of conduct at all. So it's not like he reported my friend. I have screenshots of the messages from my side AND my friend's. This guy is a cyber terrorist, not just a bully. My friend didn't deserve that, it should've
    been me. We spent the next 2 hours on the phone lookin up ways to report the guy and this was one way i could do it. And I'm all ears to know how i can get this guy taken off Xbox. Hackers make me not even want to play video games anymore. But if one less
    hacker is out there I'm sure we'd all sleep better at night. Not having to constantly think the person knocking at your door is a solicitor or some random guy who got your address from the internet. My friend and I both have families that could be affected
    if what he promised to do actually happens. Yeah, he said he'd take a shot at me in real life. My profile pic isn't of me but I got my real name shown so it wouldn't be too hard to figure out what i look like if he's got my location. Should i alert the authorities?
    Or is there a different step to take with this scenario?

    Hey LynX ILazarus , this sounds like a serious situation. Believe it or not, gaining access to someone's personal IP address without their
    permission is illegal and should be dealt with immediately. if you think this person may do anything to harm you in any type of way talk to you're local authorities, if that person keeps booting you offline simply go to your internet provider with your current
    wifi box and ask for a trade-in; they shouldn't charge you if you tell them the situation that happened.

    Hi Lynx ILazarus,

    Your IP address isn't really going to provide them with enough information to give someone the location of your home. It sounds like they tried a DDOS attack on your internet which any tinkerer could likely do. So, don't feel too threatened they are just craving
    attention.

    Sounds like he was plenty toxic to me to stoop to low tactics to try scaring people like that.

    I recommend contacting support as well and explaining the situation to them if you are feeling uncomfortable with the situation. Xbox takes these cases very seriously.

    All enforcement claims are checked by a human being, they will review the case and check past history to see if this is a re-occurrence or not. Depending on the gathered information the duration of the ban is decided.

    No enforcement decision are forgotten and can be used for reference.
