Hacked Authenticator app

Sorry to hear about what happened. This is clearly not the situation I want you to be in. Just to set your expectation, due to our account safety and security, only us the account owners have the ability to recover our accounts and verify their ownership. Even a Microsoft Support cannot recover our accounts on our behalf because they're protected by the security information we have setup on our accounts which we only have access to.

In regard to your concern, you've enabled the authenticator app which is an added layer of security on your account. To be honest, it would be difficult to recover it because not even Microsoft can access your authenticator app. It has to be done only from your end for security reasons.

I really understand your situation. I have seen several users losting accounts for hackers. I can only suggest you in the future to setup two factor authentication on your account - preferably a phone number to receive SMS or an authentication app. This decreases your chances of being hacked to almost zero.

exactly Tuba. I love my mobile authenticator, and I had the original authenticator before it was made into an App. I've never in all my years playing a Blizzard game been hacked. using same email/pw combo would never be an issue again because they would
need to take another step that ONLY the account owner can do.

Secure your payment methods on that account and ensure there were no fraudulent charges, and deal with them if there are.

Further, TURN ON TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION FOR EVERY ACCOUNT YOU CAN. Every. Account. It's a simple app, either
Microsoft Authentication or Google Authentication apps for mobile stores. It is simple and easy way to secure your account. Two factor authentication.

I'm sorry your account was compromised, and I hope you're able to get it back without damage; follow the steps. But I will take any chance to tell everyone to
ENABLE TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION ON YOUR ACCOUNTS.

If you have a phone number, then please add your phone number, and set up two factor authentication using the Authenticator app. This will add another level of protection on your account to prevent it from being hacked.
