Hacked account while waiting for refund

Yesterday I was playing with my cousin on PC when he received an email from Xbox that someone bought the new Avengers game, he filled a request for a refund and send it, today a hacker kicked him out of the account and is saying to "give him the game" or
he will delete the account.

My question is if he still can get his refund if the account is deleted or someone else plays the game? I guess not but I wanna make sure.

The problem is that we can't access the account from anywhere, this hacker changed the password and all the recovery password options. We already did the verify identity thing but right now it got denied.

I got hacked too, did the investigation and had my account suspended for a month... still waiting on refund for the purchases and the 4000 points that were on my account that got used by that a**hole

So when this kind of thing happens they recover the account and do an investigation into how the user got the account and also charges that were made while the account was hacked so the charges can be refunded. It takes a little bit of time but they will
get back to you when the investigation is complete.
