    Hello - My sons account was hacked 8 days ago via Xbox Live and customer service has provided misinformation and been unresponsive. What is my recourse if any?

    Is there an escalation hierarchy not published online re: email to more senior support?

    Umm... I would flip this back to Xbox. They set the expectation of a 24-48 hour turnaround, which is reasonable.

    World crisis, sure that is out of our control. But setting appropriate expectations and open communication is within control.

    Nothing can be transferred between accounts. So in this case, if you create a new account to your son and purchase memberships or games on it, it will not be transferred to his old account. But he will be able to play these games on the other account as long as this new account uses the console as his home Xbox (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...).

    You would need to ask a refund for these new purchased games. But be aware that the refund request might be denied.

    You mentioned your son is receiving notifications about his friends signing in into his account? So he shared account information with his friends?

    And if the recovery form shows you that the account does not exist anymore, the account will not be able to be recovered. Only if the Microsoft agent you talked to on the support actually recover it for you.

    You would need to wait Microsoft response. I'm not a Microsoft employee so I cannot say if you will recover your son's account or not. Only Microsoft employees review your answers.

    The recovery form is the only recourse if the account does not have any alternative email address or phone number associated with it.

    The questions asked by the Microsoft chat agent are almost the same as the recovery form.

    You can try the recovery form more times. But it can take a few days until you receive a reply.

    If when you try to fill the recovery form you receive a message that the account does not exist anymore, unfortunately you will not be able to recover your son's account. No Microsoft employee can help users recovering their accounts. They only instruct you on how to fill the recovery form. They are not allowed and have no access to change anything on a user account.     No - friends signing into their accounts (that they own) and playing. My son is getting notifications that his friends are logging into their own accounts and playing online. So I believe my son's account is locked still - but not deactivated.

    Looks like we are waiting on the security team my sons recovery was escalated to?
