After seven years as a group, there are some things we take for granted. For example, we have interactive rosters, chats, blogs, and forum boards to help our members get in game and start get the good times rolling with other older gamers as easily as possible.
Put a check mark next to that item. Done. Also, we maintain a friendly and inviting communication environment in which new and established members alike can feel respected and not feel like they need amazing stats to join the party. Again. Check.

As successful as we have been on those fundamental and utterly important fronts, we never stop trying to add to the clan experience for those folks who like their gaming like a social experience rather than a competitive second job. The newest effort on expanding
the experience is our new weekly live show entitled "From the Gallows!"

Every week, the group comprised exclusively of older gamers is hosting a retro show. It is broadcasted live on
Twitch.tv and then uploaded, in its entirety, on
https://www.youtube.com/user/GunslingerPosse. Be sure to subscribe to it so you know when new episodes are published.

Each episode showcases a different game, some classic and some forgotten, ranging from the Atari 2600 era to the yesteryear of console gaming. The episodes are roughly an hour long (give or take) and features live commentary, which interacts with viewers.

I don't know about the rest of you, but Friday couldn't come soon enough this week! That is why I and the rest of GS* are ready to gear up for another round of Frosty Pints---the weekend tradition of cracking up some brews and playing some rounds of games
with folks our own age!

So, what is "our age?" After running a large, active crew for over seven years, the increase of gaming groups claiming to be for adult gamers is notable. But, if you take a closer look, the definition of "older gamer" is elastic to say the least. You want
to know what age group tends to sign up and game amongst the Gunslingers. I don't blame you!

Let's take a look at the forty-five members celebrating their birthdays with us this week (August 10th to August 16th). The average age of the members blowing out candles this week is
33. To those GS* members, happy birthday!

Within the Gunslingers clan, we love Halloween. Some of us are going attending costume parties (my wife and I went as a Ghostbuster and the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man), getting the rugrats ready for some trick-or-treating, or building up candy reserves
to hand out on Halloween.

This time of year sure goes by fast, doesn't it? It probably has something to do with the fact that so many holidays are shoved into a three month period. It is hard to believe we are already beyond the ten day mark of November! Before we know it, another
year of the Gunslingers clan will be over.

So, just how active are we after all these years? It is easy, I suppose, to just look at a total amount of members, but that doesn't actually say anything about how active a clan still is, does it? For example, is a long term clan still getting new members,
or is its website just collecting digital cobwebs like an overly proud homeowner refusing to take down his Halloween decorations?

I am happy to report that the Gunslingers clan is still very much active. In just the first ten days of November, we have welcomed over
SIXTY-THREE new members into our virtual saloon! Incredible! Thank you all for joining and welcome aboard!

The amount of members is not what is really important here. What is important is what all these members signify. The Gunslingers remains a great, active clan exclusively for all us mature, casual gamers. We don't pay for SEO (search engine placement). We don't
run ads or harbor sponsors to boost our numbers. We are old school gamers, so we succeed the old school way: through commitment to our members and mission statement. We say we are for adult gamers, and we mean it. You aren't going to be talking to squeakers
among us. We say we are casual gamers, and we meant it. You aren't going to be pressured into taking part in some silly clan war.

We are the Gunslingers. And are invited to join us.

Happy Holiday, Gunslingers!

Let me guess: December is a busy time for you. Family to see. Presents to wrap. Holiday dinners to plan. Counting down the days before you can send the rugrats back off to the classrooms. But this is also the time of the year us older gamers can either get
some of the big new releases under the Christmas tree or flash gift cards around town as if they were credit cards in a bad '80s movie.

One of the largest and most active clans exclusively for fellow parents and adults, The Gunslingers, have also got into the holiday spirit. We have decorated our clan's website with holiday cheer, so check it out! Every single page has got a touch of Ol' Saint
Nick. Also, we are adding holiday themed games into our own custom arcade! Some of them are even in good taste. This year, our first installation is "Finding Santa." It sounds simple, but it is a lot harder than you may think. It (like the rest of our
arcade) is fun to tool around in and aim for the high score when we can't be in game together.

2014 is officially over. Being a clan that attracts older gamers from around the world with different backgrounds and additional game interests, we have an annual tradition.

THE GUNSLINGER GAMES AWARDS!

What 2014 games did you enjoy the most? With more than sixteen voting categories for this year's edition, you are invited to make your voice heard every step of the way, regardless if you are a greenhorn Gunslinger member or an veteran one.

Right now, we are at the tail end of the nomination phase of the awards, in which you decide which games even deserve to be voted on. After January 7th, the voting polls are opened based on those results. You have until the 24th to cast your vote. After that,
we take the top picks from all the appropriate categories and create the "Game of the Year" poll and have one week to pick which title gets our ultimate tip of the hat.

I love this group. I've been running with Gunslingers for a little over 9 months now. They're laid back, and a blast to game with. Never a dull moment for sure. Pretty much any game you'd want to play you'll find someone else who wants to play it too.


What you're not going to find in this group is screaming kids. Some immaturity sometimes, but definitely more mature immaturity.

You're always going to find someone who is willing to help out too. If you have a problem in a game, or looking for a particular item, someone will help to find the item, or fight on your side. You're always going to have back up.
