Guns in FPS games, it's not killing, it's tag!

Great point of discussion!

I fully agree with you, i like the game of tag reference. I definitely think we also have ways to improve individually to work together as a society to better cater for mental health to ensure people have the right access to help regardless of what they
are going through, to ensure video games or any point of entertainment really - is not impacting or influencing sensitive groups to a dangerous degree.

i can see that, i think a lot of people think too heavily on the violence factor in video games when really its an escape from reality and a safe space to do things like that, but it is a lot like tag in that respect.

There is a delicate balance when it comes to multiplayer shooters and i think that comes down to the fact that there are so many children playing these games. The games are rated M and should not be played by kids but it seems like that never stops them.
So rather than an adult game showing the violence it ops to put on kid gloves for all the children that will end up playing it. I dont agree but not being a parent myself i really have no clue how a kid gets ahold of those games.

You are right, this happens in a lot of games in which the "time to kill" is fast, the first one to see the enemy, wins. Boring as a game can get for me, but i can appreciate a game like Apex Legends or a battle royale which requires a bit of strategy.

I see them as combat simulators. Not Tag. I know what I am playing. I know that in real life it is wrong. But I do not confuse the two. I can see your point as in it being a tag like game. But I do not see it that way myself. Blood splatter or not, you
are still firing a gun in game.
