"Guns and sports games won't dominate forever" - Press Play

Jeeze, you guys are acting like there aren't any. There's like... a lot. lol

 

Virtual Reality, when it's finally perfected and made safe for home users.

 

There are many many RPG available on consoles Pyramid, and many many more on the way, which is a good thing, I personally think they will overtake shooters and racers this gen. I would like to see more turn based games (similar to ADVANCE WARS) on full consoles,
because that is a genre that is sadly neglected, more so on Xbox, but there still are not enough of them on ALL consoles in my opinion.

 

There is no way in h3ll RPG's will be the genre that overtakes Shooters & Sports games. C'mon. First off, they take too long to play. The "beauty" of Shooters & Sports games is how quickly one can jump in, play for 10-15 minutes, and hop right back off.
Secondly, the genre has been around for years, has always had a steady marketshare, but never managed to get out of that. This isn't a slight towards RPG games.

I have no idea what will knock those 2 off their perch... perhaps it is a genre that hasn't been thought of yet for the console?

 

Another title for this thread "High budget games won't dominate forever". Television has already made the appropriate changes. This is why there is nothing but silly cop shows and (non)reality shows on every channel. They're cheap to make.

 

Flappy Bird will dominate.

 

I don't think anything will "overtake" them. The RPG genre is just as strong (if not stronger).

 

I think it's going to stay the same for many years. There may be more indie games though coming out soon, and maybe shooters will take somewhat of a backburner to the fray. I personally could care less. As long as I get my games, I'm a happy man.

 

There are some RPG's but not as many as shooters.

 

I have a feeling sports games will always be one of the top genres. I can't say I'll be sad to see FPS games go though.
