    I have an xbox one s. my friend has the same console as me but one big difference. I still have 8 guide tabs instead of 5. I can move them around but i have all 8. It says there is no update available, but the last update check was the day that update came
    out. My question is how do i force an xbox to search for an update? please help

    If you want to get the update manually:

    1. Make sure your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates & downloads.
    3. Under Updates, you’ll see either:
      • Console update available. Select this button to begin your update, or
      • No console update available. This means your console is up to date.

    It's now under the last tab of your startup bar.

    It may be dependent on your OS version, you may need to make sure the console is up to date.
