Guide not popping up or ability to get into profile / settings

While in an app or game, when we press the xbox button that would dim the screen and show the guide on the left hand side, the screen does dim but the guide to give us the options for "home" and other activity does not show up as of yesterday. Also when
I try to go the the left dashboard for the profile and settings that does not show up either.

I have tried multiple controllers all the same result.

I have to shutdown to get out of a game.

Possible to turn OFF Beacon notifications?

You could also turn Notifications off for your profile.

Press the Guide Button, go to the Settings Blade and chose Preferences. Then select Notifications and you'll have a few options to disable them completely, turn off the sound or disable them during videos.

Setting your Online Status to Busy also stops notifications from popping up. Though that may have changed with the new dashboard.

This will delete it from the storage on the console, not from the Xbox Servers:

Tap on the silver GUIDE button to get to the Guide menu

Go two clicks to the right for Settings then choose System Settings and Storage

Choose your Hard Drive (or if you don't have a Hard Drive, the Memory Unit)

Go into Gamer Profiles, find the profile, select and delete it

Your profile is currupted.

(Only do this if you know your account email and passward)

On Xbox home scroll right to settings

Click System

Click Stoarge

Click your Hard drive

Click Gamer profiles

Find your Gamertag and click it

Click Delete

A pop up will come up, Click PROFILE ONLY

If you are signed in you will get signed out.

Press the guide and scroll down to download profile

Follow the instructions

If another profile is signed in, does that profile receive notifications just fine? As XBF Chris J has stated, please check out the

Pop-up notifications on Xbox One for more info and the Xbox One preferences guide for changing notification settings. If the account and/or console was recently enrolled in the preview program these settings may have changed. Let me know if this helps

so instead of going through the process to set up a new profile, skip that part. go to the dashboard and hit the center "guide" button that will pop up a menu that allows you to select "download profile" since you logged in on your laptop with that email
and password, that created the profile for you, so therefore you don't need to go through and setup a new profile. just download it
