[Guide] How to link a controller to your specific gamer tag and login

Do you have a special controller that only you use and not one else or do you have children or guests that are
only allowed to use a specific controller and only to a specific account?
I know I have I do. I have an Xbox One Elite controller for the past 2 years I got on release date that I use with my account and no other account, then I have a “guest” controller that is only use with a guest account I have.
I wish I could like the controller with those account.

Well we are all in luck, the newest release of the Xbox One operating system has a new feature call “Controller
Sign-In”.

To link a specific controller to a gamer tag and auto login to that gamer tag:



With the controller you want linked login to your gamer tag.

Goto Settings - > All Setting –> Account -> Sign-in, Security & passkey



Goto the last box which says “This controller signs in Nobody”
and select the box to assign your gamer tag to this controller, you will prompted to “Link Controller” select this option. The box will change to “This controller signs in ‘gamertag’”



To test that this works -> Goto the Home screen. Select your account and sign out.
Hold the Controllers Home button and select Power off Controller.
Now that the controller is powered off, press the home button to power on the controller.
You should now be signed in as your gamer tag.

Missing dog tags?

This is correct, you will need any prior Game on your Veteran Status from EA so it will Unlock the Dog Tag in specific.

 

Account sign in!

After logging into that account, you can set it to be the account to auto login.

1. Hit the guide button on your controller (Xbox button) - and tab all the way over to settings.
   
2. Select Profile
3. Select Sign in Preferences
4. Then turn "Profile Auto Sign in" to On.
