    You can easily increase the storage capacity of your Xbox One by add an external Hard Disk Drive (HDD), but there are a few caveats you need to be aware of.

    1 - the External HDD need to be USB 3, greater than 256Gb in size and needs to be a single dedicated storage option.

    2 - once setup the external HDD will need to be selected in the settings to Install the games to, it may appear as a single HDD on the main dashboard, but you will use it to store games as multiple HDD's.

    Ready the Disk.

    Once you have your disk ready, plug it into the XBOX One, and you will be prompted to format the disk, you will be given the options for media or for games. YOU CANNOT USE MULTIPLE PARTITIONS IF YOU WISH TO STORE GAMES. Select GAMES and let the disk be
    formatted, when finished you can access this disk by using the settings.

    Using the Disk

    When you go into settings, all settings, system then storage.

    You will see your HDD listed.

    Highlighting one of the disks and one of these disks will have a Green triangle in the top right hand corner, this shows this is the default drive (where games will be installed onto)

    You can change the default HDD be selecting it, using A on the controller and then select INSTALL HERE BY DEFAULT

    Final notes.

    The Dashboard will show you your total free space and storage capacity, not if one of the single HDD's is full or not.

    A good tip is to always check on your storage within the settings to make sure your HDDs are ok.

    Unless Microsoft recently raised the limit you can only use 16Gb of that external hdd as storage for your console content. You'd honestly be better off buying a few 16gb flash drives and using those. Or upgrade your hdd to the
    next size.

    I have enough Storage on the internal and also on the external HDD. The Size of the Game is 24,6GB. I have 130GB on the internal an about 800Gb on the external HDD free.

    you wont get a refund for that reason, and they wont reduce the game size, as we move forward game sizes will increase more.

    i would get another internal hdd or an external ssd for your computer so you have more space like the rest of us gamers have too.

    im disappointed in lack of SSD.

    Still way too expensive and with game sizes only increasing SSD is going to have to come down many times over to compete. If a developer takes the time to really make sure most content fits in memory than HDD speeds for loading content once you're in a game
    shouldn't matter all that much. 512MB to 8GB of RAM is really important since any other storage is still several orders of magnitude slower.

    If they do external USB storage maybe loading from external and internal drives simultaneously can be done. I know using a USB drive for GTAV play disc along with the installed HDD content gives pretty impressive load times so I can see that being leveraged
    when they get external storage implemented.
