[GUIDE] HELP! My Console Won't Power On - Solution

Picture this - You get home from a long day of school or work and just want to unwind with some Xbox time. You plop down into your favorite chair, throw on your headset, grab your controller and hit the power button. After a few seconds you realize your
controller didn't connect to the console... Then you realize the console didn't turn on at all. You sit up, walk to the box and hit the power button when you hear the chime you've been waiting for...only to see that the power light instantly turned off after
being pressed. You frantically hit the power button again, hear the chime, still nothing.... WHAT DO YOU DO?!?!?!?!

1. Don't freak out. It's probably not as bad as you think...probably. (if it is that bad, I can help you in the right direction too, so no worries!)

2. unplug the power cable from the wall

3. unplug the power cable from the console

4. after 10 seconds plug the power cable back into the console

(note: if you have the original black console the power brick light should have dimmed from amber to no light at all after plugging it back into the console
without it being connected to the wall outlet)

5. with the power cable connected to the console again, plug the power cable back into the wall.

(note: if you have the original black console the power brick light should quickly dim up from off to amber again)

6. once power has been restored to the power supply and console, hit the power button on your console again and it should come right on! SUCCESS!!! Now sit your butt back in that comfy chair and get to gaming!! (if not, please see option 7)

7. So, my little trick above didn't work and for that, I'm sorry. Your power issue could be caused by a number of things so I'm going to post the most universal "go-to" option below. That being said, unfortunately the safest bet is to ready your console
to be shipped in to Microsoft for service. Yes, there are other things you can try but I'm not going to delve into those options here as some could void the warranty of the console or even violate the Code of Conduct. Anyway, here is a link that

Xbox one won't turn on at all

Xbox one won't turn on at all

I am having this same problem. I have gone through the reset power supply solution and the light always stays on, but the console won't power on. It tries to, but won't get there. Is there a reason for this? Is it an easy fix I can do at home? I really don't
have the money right now to send in the console for repairs, let alone buy a new one.
