What I do is I turn on the Xbox by pressing the Guide button, then when I finish press the Guide button again. It then gives me 2 options, turn off the controller or turn off the console. I go for turn off the console. Then I unplug it. Then 2 weeks will
go pass, then I'd turn it on again using the Guide button, then after about an hour maybe 2 the controller will run out of charge.

    HDMI to VGA Not Working

Try the following: Turn off the Xbox 360 console. With the console off, hold the Y and RT buttons on a controller, then press the Guide button on the controller to turn on the console, WHILE STILL HOLDING the Y and RT buttons.

Does the monitor now show an image?

Power cycling the console should fix the issue. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

  5. Here is a copy/paste of my suggestion at Xbox Feedback, concerning the guide button not working for me to turn off my Xbox One console, which is going to be deleted in a few days since it is considered a support issue. I will power cycle my console and
try to come back and report if it worked or not.

"Recently (in the last couple weeks) whenever I attempt to turn off my Xbox One using the middle button of the controller, it takes a really long time for the option to pop up to turn the console or controller off. I usually wind up holding it down longer,
after it doesn't appear to be responding to my request, and then it will turn off my controller without giving me any prompts whatsoever! Very frustrating because then I have to wait for my controller to turn back on before I can try again, and this takes
much longer than it did on the 360 as well. And when I say it takes longer to pop up the prompt, I mean like several times longer than it did a few weeks ago.

The Xbox 360's controller command to turn off that console was instant, and even before this issue I am having where my controller gets turned off with no prompt, the Xbox One was waaay slower than the Xbox 360. I think I speak for a ton of consumers when
I say it sure would be nice to move forward with this convenience instead of backwards, and have this piece of equipment respond in a more timely manner, behaving as it should."

Again, the Xbox 360's response time for this was instant, and it's so awkward when you say your goodbye's to your Xbox Live party then you hang around for another couple of minutes trying to exit the *** thing!

Dismantled console for cleaning now pad wont synch

    Additional info:

When the console is turned off I hold the guide button to turn it on as I normally would (so the console is picking up the controller) but it wont synch, it still just blinks, spins as if loading then blinks again.

How to turn off the controller

You mean from the what do you want to do screen or pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off? Because there's that way of turning off the controller by pressing and holding the guide button 6 seconds till it turns off i believe
that was for the pc because the pc doesn't have the what do you want to do screen options where it says turn off the controller turn off console or restart console so the only option to turn off the controller on pc is pressing and holding guild guide button
6 seconds till it turns off
