Guest accounts on Play Anywhere/Gaming on Win10

I'm specifically curious about Play Anywhere for Forza Horizon 3 but this could be a question for all Gaming on Windows apps:

The Play Anywhere FAQ says the game owner can't be logged in at the same time on console and PC, but if the owner is logged out completely, can a guest account log in to their own Microsoft account on the owner's PC and play the game? Similar to how a guest
on a Gold-shared console can play a game they haven't purchased.

Xbone "Play anywhere" release date? Retroactive?

Title pretty much says it all. At E3, the "Play anywhere" thing was announced. If you buy a Win10 game that is also on Xbone, you get a copy of the game for both, Win10 and Xbone. Vice versa.



So, I bought Gears Ultimate Edition on Win10, and a friend bought it on Xbone. Will my friend now get it for his PC as well? And when does the "Play Anywhere" thing become active? (If anyone knows)

Also, kind of a shame cross platform play wasn't announced. It would've been nice for Gears UE on PC to get a decent population.

 

Multiple Accounts

You could use your main profile for the subscription and the gamepass and set the console as your home console for all users on that console to have access.

However for play anywhere titles you would either need to log into windows 10 with the account that purchased the game(s). So in your case it would be best to purchase the subscription and gamepass on the account you use for windows
10. That way the play anywhere titles can be played on Win10.

 

i have purchased achievement-enabled "xbox games" for Win8/10 and you are able to use them with other accounts on the same computer. what i specifically had to do was to change the Store settings for the other accounts to use my main profile as the purchasing
account. this will cause the games to show as owned, and make them available for install to the other accounts. not exactly sure about Play Anywhere. also it has been a long time since i have tried this, and the process may be somewhat different now for
Windows 10.
