Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-Ray won't play on Xbox One

I've had it up to hear with this Xbox One now. Ever since I started playing it again when Sunset Overdrive came out, I've been having this issue of the machine not starting up discs on the first try. It didn't matter what it was. Game, DVD, or Blu-ray.
I'd have to eject it, put it back in, eject it again, and put it back in. Usually, it would play after two or three tries. But it refuses to play Guardians of the Galaxy now. And yes, I've hard reset and power cycled the machine. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue with The Maze Runner 4K.

 

Sorry to hear it. Please head to Settings>Disc & Blu Ray and uncheck Enable BD Live then click on Clear Persistent Storage 3 times. Power cycle the machine and then try the disc.

 

That was a no-go. I tired other Blu-Rays like The Wolverine and That's My Boy, and they worked just fine. Guardians of the Galaxy will not start.

 

Ok, it was worth a shot. I was wondering though if the disc was put out by Sony. I've heard that some people have had issues playing The Lord of the Rings series on Blu Ray because it was put out by Sony.

Would you be able to check on that?

 

Well, Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel/Disney movie. I tried TLOR, and I looked all over the back, but it doesn't look like it was put out by Sony, just New Line Cinema/Warner Brothers. Now, I did try Brave, which is a Disney film and that started right
up. I also tried The Amazing Spider-Man, which is a Sony film, and that did not play.

 

I really wish I knew what to tell you here. I don't even have the movie myself so can't even confirm that it will or will not work on the console.

I had a similar problem tonight, but I was trying to play the 3D version. The problem I had was that "Allow 3D" was unchecked in the XBOX Display and Audio Settings. I've watched other 3D movies but that setting must've been changed by an update or something.
If you aren't trying to watch 3D this may not be helpful, but the Display and Audio settings may be worth taking a look at.

 

I'm currently having the same exact issue with my copy of guardians of the galaxy I received today. Even though recently i've been having issues with my xbox even recognizing games which is just extra annoying, every blu ray I have is able to play but whenever
I put in GOTG, I hear a soft error like sounding noise come from my xbox and nothing happens. Even though my copy came with a 3D blu ray disc, my tv isn't 3D compatible so wasn't able to try and see if that disc works. However, I have tried power cycling it,
clearing persistent data, toggled the 24 Hz off and nothings worked. This may not be completely my xbox ones fault but with the recent disc errors I have been getting I am more than annoyed to say the least and a fix for this, or the very least an explanation,
needs to come soon.

 

I have the same issue with Guardians of the Galaxy and an Xbox 360 slim. No other issues reading other game or movie DVDs, but when I put in Guardians of the Galaxy I get "Unrecognized Disc". I'm posting on the Xbox 360 forum also and if I find out something

same mine started that way 2 weeks ago and as of 2 days ago i had to keep inserting the disk 20-30 times before it reads it so i called support to find out my warranty ran out 12 days ago so i was madas heck , any way i went and bought the unity bundle for
$499 it came with xbox one the kienct AC unity , AC black flag , mine craft , dance spotlight and a copy of gaurdians of the galaxy blu-ray at best buy . my point is send it in for repairs asap if i did i would not have these problems i have now , but xbox
is decent i got a email half hour ago that there going to send me a ups package to ship it to them so i think there going to cover me . I will find out more on monday when they open up but i would send it in because if it is like mine it will just get worse
. CONSPERCY since bestbuy is giving this movie in a xbox one bundle , i will try it tonight and see if it works and post back
