    GTA V Taking Prolonged Periods Of Time To Download (Second Stage)


    Hi,

    I hope you are well. I just recently purchased and downloaded GTA V for my Xbox 360 Blue Edition. After downloading GTA to my Xbox and launching the game, it starts "Downloading" again. It has been an hour and a half and it simply says, "Downloading". No percentage, just downloading.

    How long will this take? Will it ever download or is GTA V support on Xbox 360 no longer available? Did I just waste twenty bucks for nothing?

    Please get back to me whenever possible.

    Hi there.

    The digital version of GTA V comes in two downloads. Once you download the first part off the marketplace and launch the game, the second part will begin to download. GTA V is a very large game. The second download is totally normal.

    If GTA V is indeed downloaded from the marketplace and not a disc, try this.

    Delete GTA V and clear your cache 3 times.

    Restart your console.

    Download 16 GB of demos (this is how big GTA V will be in the end)

    Once those have finished download all the GTA V files from your download history (GTA V, Installation Packs 1-4)

    After you've done that, feel free to delete the demos.

    This worked for me, hopefully it works for you too!

    Hey! I have something that might work for you! Mind you it will take a while.

    Delete GTA V and clear your cache 3 times.

    Restart your console.

    Download 16 GB of demos (this is how big GTA V will be in the end)

    Once those have finished download all the GTA V files from your download history (GTA V, Installation Packs 1-4)

    After you've done that, feel free to delete the demos.

    This worked for me, hopefully it works for you too!

    (Also, if you have a disc in the disc tray try taking that out. Sometimes if I leave a disc in there when I try to play games from the marketplace it gives me problems. But I'm sure you've tried that)

    Probably not advisable to do every day for prolonged periods of time. I use mine a lot for music, films, on demand tv etc and haven't had any problems though. Turning on power saving or background downloads in the settings would be a good idea.
