GTA V Online Empty Lobbies

I recently purchased Xbox One in December. I also purchased GTA 5 online and transferred my 360 saved character. I looks like I can get online no problem...but every time I'm sent to an empty lobby with no other players. I can do missions/deathmatches/etc.
and some players can hop on...but they always seem to be from a non-english speaking country. Overall though, my issue is with the empty lobbies. On my 360, I ended with zero issues and learned of port forwarding at one point fixing an issue I had at one point.
So I went online to obtain the ports I had to open specifically for Xbox One. There were several, so I did that. I also tinkered with the DMZ setting and other stuff that really shouldn't matter. Overall, I've done my diligence and the proper ports are forwarded.
I have an open NAT on my Xbox One, and I have my console hardwired to the modem via ethernet cable (not wireless). So what is the problem?

I contacted Rockstar games but they don't seem to want to specify any issue on their end. Gamestop is unaware of any issues. Are several others experiencing a similar thing? Or do I need to still keep messing with my modem? I don't know what else I can really
do.

Rockstar is more useless then MS support when it comes to this issue which is saying something. R* will only blame your network for the empty lobby issue and suggest port forwarding or DMZ. Myself and many other have done both and it doesn't do anything,
the problem is server side and R* won't admit to it. Reddit, GTAforums and many other places are littered with threads on the issue but from my research no one has really found a way to correct this. Some say joining from single player instead of the main
loading screen helps as well as does clearing your Xbox One cache (hold power button till Xbox is fully off, unplug power cord from back , wait 5 mins then plug back in and turn on).

 

I have had problems with Gta online on my xbox one as well. To the point where I got tired of dealing with my router settings. I took a powerline plug and hardwired my xbox one into that. I have a open NAT type now everytime. My internet connection speed
is good and still its a mixed bag with GTA online for me. Sometimes I am able to get into sessions with more then one person and other times I am not. Its beyond frustrating since I specifically bought my xbox one for gta. I agree that Rockstar support is
useless. Its all automated responses. One suggestion I can make that did work for me one time is this.

Change your DNS settings to

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

Will this work for you? I dont know. Even if it does you will still find yourself either being booted from a session or put in a lobby by yourself.

Maybe if enough of us get together and start some kind of petition it will force rockstar to at least acknowledge there is a issue

 

FYI feel free to add me if you want. If anything we could play a invite only session lol. Ive heard people can seem to do those no problem

 

For as much money as we all paid for an xbox One, GTAV and monthly access to their crap servers, you would think they would want to fix this issue. I have told several people that GTAV on xbox One is NOT worth the money. Buying anything else would be more
satisfying.
