GTA V keeps saying installing stopped

I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

Please try to test connecting your console to another network and check if the same problem occurs, you could configure your smartphone as a Mobile Hotspot and connect your console to that network.

i just tried gta v . But before updating gta entered in the installation but stopped at 964mb

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

We may need to install the game digitally without paying anything, Lucky. We will still use your disc so don't worry. Please follow the steps below:

1. Cancel the installation and remove the disc.

2. Perform a powercycle on your console.

​​​A. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

B. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

3. Launch Xbox app on your phone and search for the game.

4. Click the game and choose "Download to Console"

5. Wait for the game to install completely before inserting the disc to play it.

I'm having the same issue. I'm getting Installation Stopped errors for Far Cry 4, GTA V and Assassins Creed

What's the age and the model of the console? The installation is mostly from the Xbox network, so I can't see this being the disc.

I would suggest this a failing hard drive. Are you able to try an external drive?

The Console is an Xbox One S, 1TB internal storage, that I bought in late 2017, to early 2018.

It also has 4TB of external disk space, which is not full, and what the game was trying to download on. The external hard drive still has around 2.5 TB left on it. The console has around 350 GB.
