GTA V: An online user profile is required?

I've been dealing with issue after issue with this and I'm really tired and over this $#!+. At first the Xbox randomly started saying we needed to install GTA V again with disc 1 even though it was already installed, then it wouldn't download when we bought
it on marketplace, and now it's downloaded and it's telling me "Alert. An online user profile is required for this version of the game. Please sign in now." Really?? I downloaded the Xbox 360 version of GTA V on Xbox Marketplace to my Xbox 360 and I can't
even play it without online connection? I just want to play a simple OFFLINE game of GTA V. I don't want to go online, I don't want to play GTA Online, I don't want to do any of that. If I did then I would choose to go online and play. I shouldn't be FORCED
to stay on an online connection when I don't want to play online. It shouldn't need my "online user profile", I don't care about GTA Online. I just want to play the damn GTA V game. I've been dealing with problems for days. I just want to play the game offline,
it's not that hard or impossible. What do I do? How do I get this stupid "alert" off so I can just play a simple game offline?

GTAV and R* in general are very reliant on their games contacting their cloud servers. This will usually come in the form of an update. If you can, try connecting the xbox to the internet and downloading all updates available.

Also, a factory reset of the console is always an option to remove any corruptions that have occurred, but should be a last resort.
