    GTA IV won't start


    Today me and a couple of my friends were going to play GTA 4. They bought the game through the xbox store and had no problems with it whatsoever. I on the other hand obtained a digital download code of GTA 4 and redeemed it instead. When I went to play it
    I got a error code (0x803f8001) stating that I did not own the game and/or the game was not owned by me. I've tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling to hard resetting my console with no luck.

    Looking to start a clan

    Won't let me play dlc for GTA IV

    When you load up GTA IV does it load up into your latest save for GTA IV?

    (Or the original version of GTA IV)



    If it does try pressing start in game, then go to game and then Marketplace.

    The Loat And Damned should be listed in there with a tick? If it is its installed correctly (or should be)



    To start a single player story game up on the DLC simply go to game, new, and select The Lost And Damned. It should be an option in there. Enjoy playing on the lost and damned Story. (Just double check you have your origianl GTA IV save in a save slot just
    in case auto save overwrites with the lost and damned)



    To change between DLC's on GTA if you ever want to and get back to your origianl GTA IV save. simply press start, go to game, load and load the save file for the version of GTA you want to play.

    Or better yet just don't play the game. GTA V is out this September. Rock Star won't do anything with GTA IV with the next one around the corner.

    if you own the game then fully shutdown the console and start back up, it will still be trying to use the gamepass licence that is now null.

    Try to remove your profile, then turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console and sign in!

    If the issue persists, I would strongly suggest trying the troubleshooting steps below:

    Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

    Then select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

    Also, It would be great if you can delete the local save of the game.

    If the issue persists, try to soft reset the console!
