GTA IV - Windows LIVE - QUESTION

Hi! I own the game Grand Theft Auto IV on Steam and everytime I start the game "Windows LIVE" pops up.

Does that mean I could somehow be able to play it on my XBOX as well?

Grand Theft Auto IV (Steam) Problem

I cannot sign in with my windows live profile to save my progress in GTA IV.Every time i tried to enter my cd key from steam, it said my cd key is invalid.

So i browse in google and found some solution like this.

1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in with your Microsoft Account
2. Go to My Account
3. Click Redeem Code
4. Enter the code that Steam provided for GTA IV
5. Once that is successful, launch Games for Windows Live application and go to downloads
   
6. Select GTA IV and choose to view the key
7. Enter that key in GTA IV

I already redeem my code at xbox.com,but when i log in using Games For Windows Live i cannot see my games.It said " There was an error retrieving your purchase history.Please sign out and try again later. ".

So my question is where i can see my cd key for GTA IV so i can use it for my windows live profile?

Games for windows live!

I bought GTA IV off steam, it won't work because I need to run it through Games for windows live or Microsoft will feel left out. I have tried everything but Games for windows live does not even recognise that I have GTA IV. Is it just being spiteful? Is
there a way to completely cut out the games for windows live requirements altogether?

 

I'm 99% sure that's a negative.

 

Since that is not a Play Anywhere title, you would have to purchase the Xbox version in order to play it on Xbox.

Everytime I login it says "This game requires an Xbox account to save game progress and play multiplayer."

From reading that it sounds like it'd be natural you could play it on Xbox?

Games for Windows will also mention the Live service because they're just done through Microsoft. But only Play Anywhere titles can be played on both without having to purchase the game again. Xbox Play Anywhere | Xbox
