GTA 5 third person vs first person

I like the ease of movement on foot that comes with first person, even though aiming seems slightly snappier and more accurate in third person. But with driving, while first person is pretty cool at first, the field of view while driving is just too small
and I can't be as aware of my surroundings. So on foot first person, driving third person.

What are your guys' preferences?

I play in both. I like to see my character and surroundings but sometimes I need more detail for certain things.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I don't think I've posted since the forums "refreshed" to this new look... whenever that was. Anyway, I use both. For general travel I like 3rd person. I like first person for melee weapons and, of course bow. Speaking
of bow, why -- when in sneak mode -- do you hold the bow gangsta style? I get that it serves as a differentiating thing and likely is done for effect, but how would one line up their sight? Granted, I don't think I shot a bow since I was 12, but it would never
occur to me to flip it sideways. One thing I will say too, for whatever reason, I like the first person view in this game and the Fallouts. For reasons unknown to me the bioshock first person makes me sick after 20 min or so. I don't really care for the Halo
first person views either. With Halo, I think it is mostly the colors and amount of movement that is distracting.

Edit: Wow. I'm back down to a "Level 2"...? Huh. And to think I was around back when people were looking for the Singing Sword in Fable. lol.

 

Have you tried restoring health via prostitution in 1st person?

I am not really a fan of the first person mode except when driving. Cant put my finger on it but it feels very unnatural when in FP mode. Ill fight through it though as there is an achievement for playing in first person for 15 hours.

 

It feels unnatural because the x and y axis are different speeds. You can look left/right faster than you can look up/down. So any sort of diagonal movement will feel weird.

 

I drive in 1st-person, but walk in 3rd person (unless I'm going to get into a fist-fight - then I'll go into 1st-person for that).

1st-person isn't that bad if you get used to working the camera and looking behind you often while you drive like, you know, in real life.

 

Been using 1st person constantly and really enjoying it. Getting on especially well with driving, I normally use cockpit view for racing games, so it feels quite natural for me. I was about 10 minutes away from getting the 15 hour achievement.
