Groups Disappeared!

Discus and support Groups Disappeared! in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I don't believe it was a console update.     I don't believe it was a console update.

    All the groups I created for apps and games have gone, which took a very long time to do, hence it feels like a useless feature.

    I don't believe my console had an update, it just happened one day, if I had to guess maybe it was related to when I experimented with the pins on the mobile app, by adding red dead 2 as a pin before downloading it via Game Pass.

    • I'm not part of the INSIDER PROGRAM.
    • The console is updated to the latest system update.
    • All ports were already open, but it's in DMZ anyway.
    • I have a wired connection
    • I cleared my cache
    • I signed out of accounts and signed back in again.
    • I did a factory reset.
    • I refreshed groups - which just brings back an error.
    • I deleted 'Local Groups', and refreshed Groups again, same error.
    • Tried on an old Xbox one in the house that is no longer used, plugged it in. Same there. No groups!

    Very frustrating, customer support doesn't have a channel for addressing this bug, or provide any explanation. They won't let you call them if it's not one of the topics for the dropdown boxes. I've just been directed to ask a gamer LMAO, which is useless
    - they thought I was talking about clubs or looking for a group and not the groups one can make with their games and apps library on the console. And their Twitter account just ignores my tweet or DM.

    Hi there!

    I'm not sure if you have tried a power cycle yet, but if you haven't, hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 2-3 minutes. Then re-connect
    and turn on the Xbox.

    If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a
    soft factory reset    . Make sure to select "keep my games & apps" and have your account login information plus your WIFI password ready because you will need to re-add the account and re-connect to your network.

    Let us know if either troubleshooting step helps.

    The only time I have seen this issue is through the Xbox Insider Preview program. If you can confirm you are or are not in the preview program then we can start to figure it out.

    Another thing, is your Xbox One pre-owned? I ask because quite often pre-owned Xbox One's may not have been removed from the insider program, by the previous owner. If you have owned it from new, then that is ruled out.
