Grinding when loading Xbox One disc, disc reading error & MS repair service?

So my Xbox One had the disk grinding issue too. I was able to get it to read discs though.

Listening to the 'grinding' sound - it seemed like it was the motor that loads the disc into the slot. It seemed like it kept trying to load the disc even after it was all the way in the drive. On a hunch I put the disc barely in the drive - no enough to
grab the disc but enough for the 'loading' motor to start running. After a second or two I put the disc all the way in. This time the disc was loaded normally and started to spin up. I'm still going to replace the unit, but at least I can play the games I
purchased on disc until the advanced replacement unit arrives.

If you're having any disc-related problems, make sure your console is placed horizontally on a flat, stable surface.

If you hear a grinding noise when you insert a disc or when playing it, your console may need service. Go to device service

to troubleshoot problems playing a disc on your Xbox One.

Try the following solutions on the article if none of your discs will play, or if you insert a disc and your console doesn't recognize it. If your Xbox Home screen tells you to insert a disc when a disc is already inserted, that means
it doesn't recognize your disc. In these scenarios, there are two possible issues:

• The settings for instant-on power mode can render a small number of consoles unable to read discs.
  
• The console's disc drive needs servicing.

If the persists and didn't fix the issue, your console will need a repair. Go to

Device service and repair to submit a service request. For more information, see

Getting your Xbox console or accessory serviced.

Maybe you will have to send the disc to repair center…
