Grey stripes on black spots in some games.

Hi.

I've noticed that when blacks are on screen it appears grey vertical stipes seen on the black spots only. If we look closer it appears as very thin lines that combine and look like vertical lines. That small lines are horizontal and vertical.

It happens only on games with resolutions between 720p and 1080p, like 912p.

Examples are metro 2033, metro last light, titanfall, thief.

It very easy to spot the issue on metro 2033 gamma configuration screen.

The issue disappears if i set the tv resolution to 720p or change the console color to pc RGB.

Notice that my tv has limited gamma, and not full RGB. If i go to hdtv calibration and using pc rgb, the closed eye does not appear.

The issue happens on my two tvs and my computer monitor. One tv is samsung lcd and the other is an lg lcd. The monitor is a lg lcd.

Maybe they are an upscale artifact.

The same issue does not happen on ps4, that has a similar gpu, so i believe that is an driver issue or some problem with the hardware upscaler.

You will miss some locations if you don't explore the ENTIRE maps. Not all missions will ask you to go to a certain area. I was missing one location, and found it on my second playthrough.

TIP: Go to each map, open up your full map view, locate a grey/black spot on the map. If you see a grey/black spot on the map, you haven't been to that location yet. Make sure that no grey/black spots are on any of your maps.

 

Xbox One System Bundles

I have a mild aversion too it, I think they shoulda made it all grey, then had fading black stripes in small segments, so people would realize it's still an Xbox One under there instead of like half advanced warfare system.... then black xbox one.

 

Oh... one tv and my monitor are full hd.

 

And i've already tried with 2 more hdmi cables and have reseted the console, pressing the power button for 10 seconds and disconecting the psu for more 10 seconds(a little more, in reality). I'll not try the factory reset because i really doubt it will solve
the issue...

The issue is reduced (almost invisible) with led backlighting at medium levels, but with backlighting at maximum, it very noticeble.
