    Green screen

I had my xbox one since the launch and recently (past year) every few weeks I get stuck on the green screen for about 10 minutes and the xbox will turn itself off and back on to the green screen. Wierdly if I let it cycle for a few times it will fix itself
but I have done the factory reset and power cycles. Ive sent it in for repairs on this as well. So does anyone know what causes the green screen? I have a external harddrive, kinnect and battery pack charger pluged in to the xbox if its something with the
    battery.

    :)

I would try contacting support to diagnose whether this is a hardware failure or a connection problem:

    support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

If they determine that you do have a hardware failure, they will instruct you how to submit a console repair request. This will all be covered under your warranty since you purchased a brand new machine.

    Hello there!

We understand that there was an issue with gaining access to the dashboard when booting up the console.

This would be a startup error, usually occurring when the console attempts a system update.

This I need help with system updates on my Xbox One article explains the procedures to take involving this matter.

It wouldn't have to do with any of the above mentioned devices, the console was only struggling to process the update.

We hope this information helps, and wish you the best with your repair.

    Thank you!

    Hi there!

As suggested by Javier click on the link provided above :
I need help with system updates on my Xbox One"

Once on the page it will give an option to choose "I need to troubleshoot a system error". After
choose your console Xbox One, One S or One X.

Once you're on step number 3, it will let you choose
"I am experiencing a startup issue" which lets you choose
being stuck on the green screen.

    Hello SimbaXx

The screen comes from two things a power cycle, or the system is updating and will boot to that screen. In the ways you are explaining it sounds like it is updating, but not the way it normally does. Do you have any issues after it is done cycling through?
Also what power mode do you have selected?

    Thanks

    Brad

I have it on fast start up. When it resets the power brick turns orange when it normally is white.

Is your console enrolled in the Xbox Insider Preview program? If so, they are investigating an issue where some consoles completely turn off instead of going to instant on mode (causing you to see the green screen during startup).

Also, during that green screen, the console does some sort of self check. It's comparable to the boot process of your PC after the PC was shut down unexpectedly (for example because of a power outage). If the PC wasn't shut down properly, the PC sometimes
does an integrity check of the C: drive with the operating system, which can take some time.

The console does the same, and if the console does that check during startup, the green screen can stay for up to 10 minutes and might cause a restart to finish the recovery process.

However, that should only happen once in a long while, and not every time you start the console.

If the console does have issues starting a lot, you might try to resolve that by resetting the console to factory defaults.

Not sure if i have it in the inside preview program. The self check sounds exactly what it is just mine gets stuck in a loop. I have reset it to factory a few times a year and even sent it to microsoft to be repaired. Would the age affect it? It is a launch
    day edition

I also have a Day One Edition Xbox One, and for me (and my wife) it still works without issues. I had it in the Insider Preview on Alpha ring, but after the Xbox One X came out in November last year, I took it out of the Insider Preview and gave it to my
wife (she is less forgiving about non-working stuff, so I took it out of preview, in case a new feature makes something not work properly).

So I don't think it's the age itself, unless a hardware component in your console gave up earlier than the stuff in our console.

Man that's a bit extreme. I could recommend a good shrink if you really need someone to talk too! Or we could just go for a group hug or something.

On my xbox, my screen kept on going green or pink. Ended up being a loose port on my tv. Follow the above and you should be fine.

Yeah, I've had that before, here's what you do: Just install the game onto your console and that worked for me so it should work for you too.
